Springfield Man Wanted For Escape In Spring Hill Captured
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Springfield man wanted for escape and theft of a motor vehicle is behind bars this evening after being spotted walking down the street in Springfield by an alert Detective.
According to Springfield Police, Detective Charles Bogle with the Springfield Police Department received information that Cameron Boyd, 18, of Springfield was back in town after escaping from a Juvenile holding facility in Spring Hill.
Boyd had two outstanding warrants in Spring Hill, one for Escape and and another for theft of a motor vehicle. After escaping from the Juvenile holding facility, Boyd is alleged to have stolen a van belonging to the State facility in Spring Hill on January 14, 2017, just days after his 18th birthday.
After Boyd Escaped from the Juvenile holding facility, the stolen vehicle was recovered the next day in Springfield, not far from where Boyd was captured, police said.
On January 24, 2017, Detective Bogle spotted Boyd on Carter Street MAP at which time police say Boyd took off running.
Six officers took part in the pursuit that lasted about ten minutes. Ultimately Boyd was pinned by a fence where he surrendered without further incident, police said.
Boyd is currently being held at the Robertson County Detention Facility on an $8,000 bond for Evading arrest charges and a hold has been placed on him by Maury County for the outstanding warrants.
Boyd’s original charges have not been released because he was a minor at the time of the alleged crimes.
