Springfield Officials Investigate Power Outage
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Engineers with Springfield Utilities are currently working to restore power to customers Northwest of downtown Springfield.
At the moment we do not have a cause of the outage but we do know that the Robertson County 911 Dispatch center is currently running on backup generators.
Our best estimate is that power to the affected area has been out since about 7:40pm.
Smokey Barn News is working hard to isolate the cause and get an estimate on how long until power is restored.
We do not know how many customers are affected at this time but Smokey Barn News has been contacted by several individuals reporting that Hwy 41 toward Cedar Hill are without power.
If you are without power report your general location in comments.
Update 9:30pm:
According to an employee with Springfield Electric, engineers were able to restore power by resetting a breaker. The exact cause of the outage is still unknown and will be investigated further tomorrow during daylight hours.
