Springfield To CLOSE Greenway & Golf Course
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to officials with the city of Springfield, the Greenway and The Legacy Golf Course will be closed to the public effective midnight tonight through April 24th.
“As COVID-19 cases continue to rise, further preventative measures are being taken in accordance with CDC recommendations to limit activities where people may come into close contact with each other.”
“The city plans to reevaluate these closures as April 24th approaches based on the prevailing data available and recommendations from health officials to determine the possibility of reopening these facilities.
“This decision was made to ensure we are taking all steps possible to slow the spread of COVID-19,” said Gina Holt, Springfield City Manager. “Our number one priority is the health of our citizens and we want to make sure that everyone is taking this seriously. These next two weeks could prove to be vital in flattening the curve in Springfield and surrounding areas.”
The Legacy Golf Course will be prorating annual pass fees for the period of the course closure. The staff from The Legacy will be contacting pass holders to discuss the proration.
The city of White House has elected not to close their Greenway at this time.
