SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) –  The Helpful Hardware Company (owner of ACE Hardware stores across the southeast) has acquired Walker Hardware in Springfield, the deal finalized Friday, December 11.

According to Helpful Hardware Co. President, Darin Workman, other than changes on the hardware side of the supply chain, the plan is to keep Walker Hardware’s name, products, services, and employees intact. In fact, according to Workman, some previously discontinued services, like small engine repair, will be returning. The former owner, David Walker, will be retiring from the business.

“We are extremely happy to be bringing Walker Hardware into our chain of stores. It’s a great fit for the market and enables us to expand our plumbing and electrical product lines. The acquisition will also improve our overall purchasing strategy and help us become more efficient.

“In addition, Walker’s distribution, rental business, and contractor trade are strong and we’re looking forward to expanding those areas,” Workman said. “This is a great store and our goal is to make it even better.”

In the coming weeks, Workman says Walker Hardware will reinstate both 2 and 4 cycle engine repair to help the people of Robertson County with their small engine repair needs.

“In short, Walker Hardware has a great customer base and we look forward to continuing that relationship with the Robertson County community,” Workman said.

Helpful Hardware Company owns Ace Hardware stores in Tennessee (Springfield, White House, and Donelson) as well as stores in Georgia and South Carolina.

Walker Hardware is located at 3573 Tom Austin Hwy in Springfield Tennessee. MAP
