Stolen Guns Lead To Drive-By Shooting Suspects

COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A joint investigation between the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Coopertown Police Department and the Goodlettsville Police Department has led to the arrest of 4 suspects; Zachary Allen, 20, Stephanie Fisher, 18, William Read, 18, and Garett Perez, 20. in relation to the drive-by shooting on Old Coopertown Rd. in Coopertown, TN that occurred on January 7th, 2019.

Around 3:30 am on Monday, January 7, 2019, a residence on Old Coopertown Rd was the target of a drive-by shooting. Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Coopertown Police Department responded and discovered, fortunately, no-one was injured. During the investigation, it was discovered the same vehicle was used in the commission of a theft in Robertson County and several of those suspects were already in custody at the Robertson County Detention Center. Further investigation revealed the whereabouts of the remaining suspects.

Early Thursday morning, Coopertown and Goodlettsville Police Departments tracked Garett Perez to a residence in Goodlettsville. Both agencies surrounded the home and were able to take Mr. Perez into custody without incident.

Garett Louis Perez was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism Over $1000, Theft Of Property Over $1000, and Driving Unlicensed. William Connor Read was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, Vandalism Over $1000, Theft Of Property Over $1000, and Driving Unlicensed By Allowance. Zachary Taylor Allen was charged with Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, Theft Of Property Over $1000, and Vandalism Over $1000. Stephanie Lee Fisher was charged with Theft Of Property Over $1000, and Criminal Responsibility for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and Vandalism Over $1000. A juvenile female was also charged with Criminal Responsibility for Attempted 1st Degree Murder, Reckless Endangerment, and Vandalism Over $1000.

The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office was originally investigating a theft of property from a residence on Waymann Dunn Rd where several firearms; 30-30 cal. Rifle, 30-06 cal. Rifle and a 9mm handgun were stolen. During the course of the investigation for the theft of property, it was determined that these suspects were also involved in the drive-by shooting in Coopertown.

This is an on-going investigation. All four suspects are being held at the Robertson County Detention Facility on charges of Theft of Property over $1,000 (Bond $20,000) by Robertson County Sheriff’s Office. Additionally, Garett Perez, Zachary Allen and William Read are also charged with Criminal Attempt-1st Degree Murder (Bond $500,000), Reckless Endangerment (Bond $50,000), and Vandalism (Bond $2,500) by the Coopertown Police Department.
