Suspect In Custody After Wal-Mart Parking Lot Stabbing
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Sunday, October 23, 2016, at approximately 9:30 pm, Springfield Police Officers responded to NorthCrest ER in reference to an alleged stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers were advised that the 18-year-old victim from Springfield, had been stabbed during an alleged robbery in the parking lot of the Springfield Wal-Mart. Detective Chuck Bogle with the Springfield Police department was notified and arrived on scene.
During the investigation, it was discovered that the victim was stabbed several times by a James (Jack) Auerbach during an alleged Robbery. Detectives are not providing a motive for the stabbing but stated that Mr. Auerbach turned himself in and has admitted to stabbing the victim. During their investigation, police learned that the two men knew each other and had planned to meet in the Wal-Mart parking lot.
The victim was stabbed 6 times during the altercation, according to police, including stab wounds to his chest, stomach and back. Auerbach has been charged with Criminal Attempt to Commit Robbery and Aggravated Assault. He is currently being held in the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield under a $40,000 bond. Court Date is Nov 28th, 2016.
The victim was treated for his injuries and has since been released.
