SUV Crashes Into Bedroom Of Springfield Home
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – An SUV crashed into a Springfield home early Tuesday just missing the occupants inside and causing heavy damage to the home.
Springfield Police are investigating the accident that occurred around 5:30 am Tuesday morning on Woodland St and 18th Ave. MAP The impact literally tore off the front of the home exposing the bedroom. Fortunately, the occupants of the SUV and the home escaped without serious injuries. No word on the cause of the crash.
It appears that the SUV was traveling North on Woodland St when it left the roadway, just missing a fire hydrant and a utility pole, before impacting the home at an angle, the impact causing heavy damage. The house will need significant repairs before it is livable again. The SUV will likely be totaled.
Smokey Barn News did chat with the residents of the home who seem to be taking their abrupt awakening pretty well as they examined the damage to the home.
The Springfield Police Department, the Springfield Fire Department, and Robertson County EMS all responded to the scene.
This is the third serious accident at this same intersection since July of last year. We have added links to those reports below.
