Triple Rollover Crash on I-65 in Millersville: Driver and Dog Survive
MILLERSVILLE, TENN. – A three-vehicle rollover crash on I-65 ended with the driver in the hospital and his small dog at the police station Friday morning.
According to Millersville Interim Police Chief Todd Dorris, the crash occurred on I-65 South at the 103-mile marker around 8 a.m. When traffic slowed, the driver, a 34-year-old man from Texas (hauling two other vehicles in succession), wasn’t able to stop in time. He veered off the roadway, causing all three cars to flip, Dorris said.
The driver was traveling through the area after purchasing the vehicles. His towing setup consisted of a primary vehicle pulling a second car using a tow bar, with a third vehicle mounted on a dolly behind the second. Despite the precarious arrangement, Chief Dorris confirmed that the towing method was legal, though not necessarily safe.
Remarkably, the driver was able to climb out of the wreckage along with his Pomeranian travel buddy. The driver was transported to Skyline Medical Center with unspecified injuries. The dog seemed no worse for the wear. Millersville Police Lieutenant Watson assisted in securing the dog (pictured with Officers Nyka Moore and Joshua Haire), which was taken to the Millersville Police Department while awaiting a family member to pick it up.

Emergency responders from Millersville Fire, Sumner County EMS, and the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
