Two Injured In Apparent Stabbing Behind Dollar Tree In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two people were hospitalized in what police are calling an altercation with a knife behind the 17th Ave Dollar Tree in Springfield Friday night.

Police were called to the Dollar Tree and Dairy Queen next to Kroger around 7:30 pm. A 47-year-old male (found in the parking lot adjacent to the Dairy Queen in the Kroger Parking lot) and a 46-year-old female (located behind the Dollar Tree) were transported to NorthCrest Medical Center in Springfield in stable condition, according to Robertson County EMS. Both appeared to have visible injuries.

According to officials at the scene, there was an apparent altercation involving two people and a third who reportedly tried to stop the fight but that information was preliminary.  Detectives told Smokey Barn News that the altercation likely occurred in a wooded area behind the Dollar Tree located on 17th Ave E. MAP

One official told Smokey Barn News that the wooded area behind the Dollar Tree is known to be used as a homeless camp.

From what information we could get, the incident seems to be isolated, representing no danger to the community.
