Two Teens Killed, Juvenile Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash on I-24 in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A single-vehicle rollover crash on I-24 Eastbound early Sunday morning claimed the lives of two teenagers and left a third teen injured. The crash occurred near mile marker 3 on the west side of Wilma Rudolph Blvd/US 79 exit, the first call coming into 911 at 1:16 AM. LOCATION OF CRASH.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol’s preliminary report, a 2017 Buick LaCrosse was traveling in the #2 lane on I-24 East when the vehicle ran off the right side of the road. The car overturned before coming to rest in a wooded area.

Victims Identified

•The driver of the vehicle, 18-year-old Kevion Deshun Lane, and the front-seat passenger, 18-year-old Katrell Zion Godfrey, both from Tennessee, lost their lives in the crash. THP confirmed that neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

•A third passenger, a 16-year-old male, also from Tennessee, was injured in the crash. He was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt either. His condition has not been disclosed.

Investigation Ongoing

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is leading the investigation. At this time, no charges have been filed, and no additional contributing factors have been released.

Traffic Impact

The Clarksville Police Department and first responders were on the scene for several hours. Eastbound traffic on I-24 was affected, with motorists advised to seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
