UPDATE: Winter Shelter Provides 239 Meals/79 Beds At My Father’s House (Thank You RC Community!)

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – My Father’s House Mission (MFHM) would like to thank the Robertson County community for your outpouring of support during the recent extreme cold weather for our displaced citizens. Due to your generosity, MFHM kept the doors open as an “emergency shelter” continuously for 208 hours providing 3 meals a day, warm beds, hot shower facilities, nightly devotions and clothing, including winter coats and blankets.

Over the course of 8.5 days, MFHM provided 233 meals and 79 bed nights to those in need. Several of you identified individuals in the extreme cold and gave them a ride or directed them to the MFHM location at 101 10th Ave E. in Springfield, TN. We are grateful for your attention and compassion for those displaced.

In addition, MFHM became aware of several homes in the community where the families were in need of food and blankets. Due to your generous donations this past week, MFHM was able to immediately meet the need of each of those families. This is in addition to many who have ensured that the Blessing Box in front of the Shelter has remained stocked this past week. Countless families have utilized the Blessing Box daily.

MFHM has current authorization from the State Fire Marshal’s Office (SFMO) to remain open through Saturday morning, January 27th as a “cold weather shelter” opening each night at 5 pm until 7 am the next morning. MFHM and the SFMO are jointly working on a solution that would allow the cold weather shelter to remain in operation thru March 31st.

Your prayers and support over the past 9 days have been overwhelming. Thank you for standing with MFHM and the 90+ volunteers over the past 9 days with your prayers and support, allowing MFHM to be the hands and feet of Christ in our community.

THANK YOU
MFHM Board
