GREENBRIER TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – On Sunday family and friends gathered at the McDonalds in Greenbrier to remember 17-year-old Pablo Antonio Ortiz Perez who tragically died last week when his vehicle was struck by a train. FULL STORY
It’s the kind of tragedy no one can be ready for. The loss of life at such a young age of a young man that had so much potential is just hard to comprehend. One thing is certain though, Pablo touched many lives.
One look at the large crowd that showed up at McDonald’s to remember Pablo and it’s clear that he was loved by many. One by one, friends talked about what a smart, loving, and kind-hearted spirit Pablo was.
Pablo worked at the Greenbrier McDonalds and they opened up their facility to host the vigil that would leave many with tears in their eyes as one by one friends expressed their love for Pablo. There was scripture reading, poems, and tales of fun times with friends. With Pablo now gone, he will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone he touched in his short life. “This was Pablo’s (what we consider our second home) because at Mcdonald’s we are a big family,”
Pablo’s brother, Diego Antonio Ortiz Perez, who was in the car with Pablo during the accident survived the crash and is currently recovering. We hear he’s recovering well. For Pablo, a GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with expenses. We are still waiting for the family to set a date for Pablo’s funeral service. As soon as a date has been set, we will bring it to you.
The outpouring of love for Pablo continued with a balloon release, the lighting of candles and floating hot air balloons.
As the event came to a close, the community gathered around the family. Only a parent who has lost a child can begin to understand the pain they are feeling. Perhaps some solace can be found in the knowledge that Pablo, even in his short life, touched so many lives.

Es el tipo de tragedia para la que nadie puede estar preparado. La pérdida de la vida a una edad tan temprana de un joven que tenía tanto potencial es difícil de comprender. Sin embargo, una cosa es cierta, Pablo tocó muchas vidas.
Una mirada a la gran multitud que se presentó en McDonald’s para recordar a Pablo y está claro que muchos lo amaban. Uno por uno, los amigos hablaron sobre el espíritu inteligente, amoroso y bondadoso que era Pablo.
