(Video) Reported Altercation With Sword Triggers Multi-Agency Response

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two people were transported to area hospitals and one taken into custody after police, EMS, and the Fire Department were called to a Springfield home following reports of an altercation involving a sword Monday Evening.

The home is located in the 2500 block of Queen Anne Ct, MAP The first call came into 911 at 6:42 pm. The home is located less than 1000 feet from last Thursday’s fatal stabbing at an apartment complex off 17th Ave East.

According to Robertson County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Director/Chief Brent Dyer, EMS responded to the home following a reported altercation between two men. At some point a 911 caller reported someone possibly had serious injuries from a sword, therefore a LifeFlight air ambulance was placed on standby.

“Upon arrival, both men thankfully only had minor injuries,” Dyer said. “The medical helicopter was advised to stand down. Both men were transported non-emergency to TriStar NorthCrest with non-critical injuries. Both were transported in separate ambulances with law enforcement officers present. The Springfield Fire Department assisted in the assessment and treatment of the injured parties.”

One of the men transported appeared to be handcuffed as he was loaded onto the ambulance and a sword was taken into evidence. The Springfield Police Department is investigating the incident. No further information was available.
