White House Home Ignites Overnight

WHITE HOUSE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A White House area home suffered heavy damage after an early morning fire Sunday.

The home is located in the 1000 block of Hilltop Rd just outside  White House city limits. The call came in around 4:30 am Sunday morning.

Firefighters with the White House Community Volunteer Fire Department and the Shackle Island Fire Department were able to save about 65% of the home, according to Firefighter Tara parker with White House Community.

One gentleman was inside the home at the time of the fire, he was able to escape uninjured. The home had active smoke detectors that were going off when firefighters arrived.

The White House Community Volunteer Fire Department, the Shackle Island Fire Department, Sumner County EMS, the Sumner County Sheriff Department, and Rehab 83 all responded to the call.

Investigators are exploring the theory that a fire started in a trash can near the home.
