SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – SPEC MIX, LLC®, a QUIKRETE Company®, is filling the roster for the world’s largest and most prestigious masonry competition, the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500®.
WHAT IS THE SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500?
Great question! It’s a grueling competition to find the best bricklayer in the world. It’s all about who can lay the most brick, with the least number of deductions in one hour. Regional qualifiers are held across North America to determine who has the right to compete for over $125,000 in cash and prizes in Las Vegas. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event, with last year’s regional series live stream capturing over a million views, making the competition more popular than ever.
To qualify for the World Championship, hundreds of teams from across North America will battle to win one of 22 individual regional series events, proving they are the best craftsmen in their region. Each team, consisting of one mason and one mason tender, will be given an hour to build the largest and best 26-foot-long brick wall they can, with as few errors as possible. One winning team from each region will advance to compete for over $125,000 in cash and prizes (including a new Ford F-250 4×4 Truck, Kubota RTV-X1140) and the title, “World’s Best Bricklayer.”
The West Tennessee masonry community is about to take center stage in the regional series, and we invite you to join the action. It all kicks off at Standing Stone Nursery / Jackson Masonry on Friday, September 24th at 10:30 AM CDT in Springfield, TN. When the event concludes, one mason and tender team will walk away with a cash prize, several sponsor gifts, and a free ticket to Las Vegas to compete in the SPEC MIX BRICKLAYER 500 World Championship on January 19th, 2022 at the World of Concrete Expo.
