ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to the National Weather Service – Nashville – Heavy snow occurring. Plan on difficult travel conditions. Additional snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected for Robertson, Stewart, Montgomery, Houston and Humphreys county until noon Tuesday.

Look for significant reductions in visibility at times. Cold wind chills as low as 5 below zero will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin.

A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather conditions are occurring. If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

Snow will impact travel across middle Tennessee tonight into Tuesday. A cold front will continue moving through the area tonight into Tuesday, with snow spreading southeast across middle Tennessee through tomorrow. Snowfall will average 2 to 4 inches across northwest middle Tennessee with locally higher amounts, with 1 to 3 inches across the rest of middle Tennessee.

Along with the snow, temperatures will plummet into the teens tonight and not rise much on Tuesday. Although winds will be light, wind chills will still fall to near or below zero at times tonight into Tuesday.

Roads will become snow covered and slippery tonight and Tuesday, and with temperatures remaining below freezing until Thursday, the snow will stick around for a couple of days.
