ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Wednesday evening emergency crews responded to an accident on Hwy 49 in Milldale, which sits just four miles east of Orlinda TN. (Location of wreck)
The wreck occurred near Milldale Chapel around 7:30pm. The vehicle (a 2006 Nissan Altima) left the roadway and impacted a tree just missing a small creek.
According to Fire Chief Dusty Johnson with the Orlinda Fire Department, the 36 year old driver was unconscious when medics arrived and was transported to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville.
“It is unknown but doubtful if she was restrained. The vehicle struck trees and ran down an embankment suffering significant damage. The patient was in critical condition with an altered level of consciousness upon arrival of the EMS crew.
“An aircraft was initially requested but was cancelled due to an extended response time to the scene. In the interest of patient, the crew elected to transport via ground to Skyline Medical Center,” according to Robertson County EMS Assistant Director Russell Gupton
As far as a cause of the accident, it is still under investigation by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. As soon as they complete their report and release the name of the driver we will bring it to you.
UPDATE: Feb 4: According to a release from the THP, the driver, Daileen Couret, of Springfield will be facing charges of Due Care, No Drivers License, Financial Responsibility and Safety Belt Usage.
The THP’s preliminary description of the crash: “Vehicle left roadside right went in to the ditch, then continued about 100’ striking a tree. Came to final rest.”
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office, Robertson County EMA, the Orlinda Fire Department and the Tennessee Highway Patrol all responded to the scene.
