3rd COVID Death Reported At Springfield Assisted Living Center

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Heights assisted living by Americare in Springfield TN is reporting their 3rd COVID-19 related death at the facility.

“One of the residents who tested positive for COVID19 has passed away today. This is the third resident death due to COVID-19,” said Patricia Cokingtin, Senior Vice President. “The facility continues to care for 13 residents in-house who have tested positive, 11 of those residents are asymptomatic. Two residents who tested positive are in the hospital.

“All residents were retested today, and any employee who had previously tested negative was retested today. Results are expected back in 48 hours.

“All residents remain on in-room quarantine and those testing positive or negative are being cared for on different halls of the facility. All residents are being checked every 4 hours during waking hours for symptoms. All staff is wearing N95 masks while in the building and gloves while in resident rooms.

“Positive testing residents remain on droplet isolation protocols in their rooms.

“All residents and resident family members are being kept informed of care within the facility. All local and state health departments are being kept apprised as well.”

On MAY 26th: Robertson County reported (25) new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, putting the county’s total at 414.

The confirmed COVID-19 case count for Tennessee is now 20,965 as of May 26, 2020, including 343 deaths, 1,609 hospitalizations and 13,344 recovered. (Robertson 221 recovered)

As of May 26th, Northcrest Medical Center is treating 5 positive COVID-19 patients with (5) patients waiting for test results. One patent remains on a ventilator but showed dramatic improvement over the weekend. For more detailed daily numbers click here.
