4th COVID Death Reported At Springfield Assisted Living Center Amid Recoveries

STORY UPDATED:

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Heights assisted living by Americare in Springfield TN is reporting their 4th COVID-19 related death at the facility.

The facility indicates that the fourth resident lost their battle this morning. In addition, two other residents have tested positive for the first time and are being cared for in house.

UPDATE: After receiving messages from family members of one of the decedents, Smokey Barn News reached out to Americare for clarification on the classification of a COVID-19 death. They are confirming that the most recent COVID-19 death died “with” COVID-19 not “of” COVID-19.

Americare’s statement.

“The resident she speaks of was taken to the hospital with cardiac issues. That is true but because the patient was COVID-19 positive, that is how we are required to report it. Any other explanation would have to come from the health department.” Americare
