Battle Of The Badges Blood Drive To Honor 9/11, Help Save Lives
SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – As the nation marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Robertson County first responders and Blood Assurance are inviting the community to come together for the Robertson County Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, an opportunity to honor those who serve while helping save lives.
The event will bring firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel and community members together in the spirit of service that defined the nation in the aftermath of September 11.
Organizers hope the drive will collect enough blood to impact the lives of more than 435 patients, including local friends, family members and neighbors who may depend on lifesaving blood products.
The need for blood remains significant. Blood donations are used every day to help trauma victims, surgery patients, cancer patients and people facing serious medical emergencies.
Despite that need, only about 3% of Americans donate blood each year, according to America’s Blood Centers. That relatively small group of donors supplies blood products relied upon by patients across the country.
A single blood donation can potentially help save multiple lives. The American Red Cross says one donation can potentially save up to three lives.
By participating in the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, organizers hope donors will both honor the memory of September 11 and help ensure hospitals have blood available when patients need it.
Community members are encouraged to schedule an appointment and support their local first responders by donating blood. Appointments can be made here—> Robertson County – Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
Together, Robertson County can turn remembrance into action while helping ensure lifesaving blood is available for those who need it most.
