Christopher Michael Jaris

Christopher Michael Jaris, affectionately known as “Bear” or “Storm,” was born on March 31, 1965, in Pontiac, Michigan. He passed away on August 18, 2026, in White House, Tennessee, at the age of 61.
Christopher spent his early childhood in Oxford, MI, just outside of Detroit. In high school, his family moved first to Ontonagon, MI by the shores of Lake Superior, and then to Ocklawaha, FL, where Christopher graduated from high school. He received a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Florida and his RN degree from Tennessee State University. He worked for 27 years as a skilled Registered Nurse, including in the Intensive Care Unit, and Cardiac Care Unit at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.
Christopher was a kind, sensitive, and generous person, with a mischievous streak and a keen sense of humor. He was devoted to his circle of faithful friends, and his home became a hub for social gatherings. He loved feeding people. An exceptional baker, he created deadly rich desserts, and his lasagna was legendary. He was especially adept at Asian cuisine. Friends recall fondly gathering at his home for dinners and holiday celebrations.
Christopher was extremely fond of games, hosting friends in epic sessions of Halo or Settlers of Catan. He was a skilled Dungeon Master and, at the time of his passing, was leading a years-long campaign for a band of friends known as “The Society of Murder Hobos.”
Christopher was a talented artist, working in drawing, sculpture, and metallurgy through his life. He brought his passions together by building suits of armor and elaborate swords, making his first suit of samurai armor at the age of 19. Over the course of his life, Christopher participated in the Society for Creative Anachronism and local Renaissance Festivals.
Survived by his loving sisters, Jennifer Jaris-Weaver and Veronica Jaris Tichenor, his beloved cats, Thor and Loki.
Preceded in death by, his father, Edward David Jaris, Jr. and mother, Alexandra Susan Jaris

Jimmy Ronald Moss

Ron Moss, born Jimmy Ronald Moss on July 23, 1953, in Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on August 20, 2026.
Ron will be remembered as a teacher, an inspirational and influential presence, and a dynamic force in the lives of those who knew him. For over 30 years, he was the owner and operator of Moss Taekwondo School, in Goodlettsville, TN. A role that reflected both his deep commitment to martial arts and his gift for bringing out the best in others. He also practiced nursing and earned his bachelor’s degree in nursing, demonstrating both discipline and dedication in every path he pursued.
Martial arts remained one of Ron’s defining passions, and he carried that same focus into all aspects of his life. He was known for being highly disciplined, yet also spontaneous and adventurous. He loved learning about history and approached life with curiosity, energy, and purpose. Those around him felt his steady encouragement, as he had a way of challenging people to grow and drawing out strengths they may not have seen in themselves.
Some of Ron’s happiest memories were made through travel, especially with his wife, Lori. Their love was one of his proudest accomplishments, and the bond they shared was immense and ever growing. Together they traveled around the world, including a honeymoon in Greece, roughing it in Mexico, South and Central America building a life marked by companionship and adventure. His friend Anthony remembered with special fondness their first road trip to California and his first time traveling out of the country, memories that speak to Ron’s enthusiasm for new experiences and the joy he found in sharing them with others.
Ron is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lori Moss, whose life was deeply intertwined with his in love, travel, and partnership. He is also remembered by one of his lifelong friends Anthony Curtis, along with many other friends whom he considered family. The relationships he built extended far beyond acquaintance; they were lasting bonds shaped by loyalty, encouragement, and affection.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Moss; his father, James Robert Moss; and his son, Ron Moss Jr. Their places in his life remained meaningful and enduring.
A memorial gathering will be held on September 11, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cole & Garrett Funeral Home & Cremation Services – Goodlettsville, 127 N Main St, Goodlettsville, TN 37072.
Ron Moss leaves behind a legacy of discipline, inspiration, adventure, and love. He will be remembered for the way he taught, the way he encouraged, and the way he lived fully, leaving a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him.

Porter E. Roach, Jr.

75 Years Old
Porter E. Roach, Jr. age 73 of Coopertown, passed from this life on Friday, August 28, 2026 at his home. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 30, 2026 at 3:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Kenny Chyle officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11 AM until the time of service.
Mr. Roach was born December 8, 1952 in Springfield to the late Porter E. and Settie Elizabeth Roach, Sr. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church in Russellville, KY and was a retired forklift operator at UNARCO. He enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening and riding his golf cart around his home. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Anthony, Kenny, Donald, Arnold, and Mark Roach and two sisters, Missy Stagner and Deborah Roach.
Surviving him are his sons, Phillip (Aimie) Roach of Coopertown and Brian (Jennifer) Roach of Bowling Green, KY; brothers, Tim (Sheena) Roach, Sr. of Burgaw, NC, Allen Roach of White House, and Robbie (Kassandra) Roach of White House; sisters, Lois (James) Henley of Springfield, Joyce Gwynn of Springfield, and Teresa Bellman of Greenbrier; grandchildren, Phillip Roach, Jr., Summer Williamson, Breanna Roach, and Brian Roach, Jr.; an

Richard Warren Graeff
October 20, 1953 – August 22, 2026
Richard “Warren” Graeff, 72, of Springfield, TN passed away on August 22, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Arrangements have been made at Poland Thompson Funeral Home in Cameron, MO on August 31, 2026. Visitation at 10am, Funeral Service at 11am, followed by burial at Osborn Evergreen Cemetery in Osborn, MO.
Warren was born on October 20, 1953 to Richard Lee and Beverly Ann Graeff (née White) at Missouri Methodist hospital in St Joseph, MO. He was their first child of three, Eva Katherine Owen (née Graeff) and Randall Lee Graeff.
Warren graduated from Osborn High School in 1971, Northwest Missouri University with a BS in 1975, and University of Colorado with a MS in 2003.
Warren served in the Peace Corp in Tunisia and taught high school Agriculture Education in Highland, KS. For most of his career, he worked as an agricultural lender in many managerial and leadership roles, including serving on several boards, such as Future Farmers of America, until his retirement in 2024. Warren enjoyed volunteering, most recently with Christian Friends of New Americans in St. Louis. His hobbies included carpentry and stained glass work.
Warren was preceded in death by his parents Richard and Beverly Graeff, and his son-in-law Christopher Stice.
He is survived by his daughter, Nicole Stice (née Dodson); his son, Asa Graeff and wife, Lee; five grandchildren, Jace Dodson, Anna Dodson, Ella Stice, Brogan Stice, and Avi Graeff; and his siblings, Kathy Owen (née Graeff) and Randy Graeff; and their families, including his nieces, nephews, and extended family members, whom he loved dearly.

Lori Ann Hoover
January 13, 1970 – August 23, 2026
Lori Ann Hoover, age 56, of Springfield, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at her home. There are no services scheduled at this time.
Ms. Hoover was born January 13, 1970, in Marion, OH, to the late Thomas Lloyd and Diana Lee Hoover. She was an Emergency Medical Technician for several years. She loved to help people and share her knowledge with those who needed it.
Her animals came second only to her sons. She is now snuggling with her beloved dogs Bella and rowdy, as well as her beloved cat Callie.
She was a proud Marine mom and anyone who knew her knew that. She loved the Marines and those who served her country immensely.
She is survived by her sons, Colton Meadows (wife Hannah Meadows) and Devin Vansky; a sister, Lisa Hoover; her grand-pup Marshall Meadows and her beloved dog, Izzy.

Erskine Calvin Putty
August 16, 1947 – August 26, 2026
Erskine Calvin Putty, age 79 of Cottontown passed away Wednesday morning, August 26, 2026 at his home. He was born August 16, 1947 in Nashville, TN to Calvin & Jewel Hadley Putty.
He worked for the United States Postal Service until his retirement and proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam. He loved cooking, playing Bluegrass music on his guitar, working in his yard and traveling to Gatlinburg with his wife.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law, James Bundy. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jacqueline Putty, Cottontown, TN; sons, Nathan (Megan) Putty, White House, TN and Cal Putty, Charleston, SC; brother, Mike (Bonnie) Putty, Nashville, TN; sisters, Norma Bundy and Patsy Putty, both of Hendersonville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Tyler, Lucy & Olivia; 2 great-grandchildren, Harper & Cameron.
Graveside service and interment with military honors is scheduled for 1:15PM Tuesday, September 1, 2026 in White House Memorial Gardens, with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
Visitation is planned for Tuesday, September 1, 2026 11AM-1PM at Austin & Bell, with a short fallen Marine service to be held just before leaving for the cemetery.

Kenneth Wayne Bobo

Kenneth Wayne Bobo, age 78 of Cottontown passed away August 26, 2026 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. He was born March 11, 1948 in Sioux City, Iowa to Lindsey Richard Bobo, Jr. & Helen Grace Buss Bobo.
He retired after working many years in the steel building industry as a Quality Assurance Manager. Mr. Bobo proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during Vietnam. He enjoyed traveling, watching NASCAR, working on cars, following politics and he loved dogs.
He was a hardworking man that loved his country and enjoyed spending time with his family more than anything else. He had attended Temple Baptist Church in Cullman, AL before moving back to Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Malachi Evans; sister, Linda Sollars; brothers, Lanny Bobo and Merton Bobo. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita Bobo, Cottontown, TN; daughters, Tara (Larry) Barker, Cottontown, TN and Tami (Glen) Evans, Shelbyville, KY; sister, Sherry (Charly) Hedger, Centre, AL; 4 grandchildren, Evan, Zachary, Josiah and Nathanael.
A memorial service will be planned for a future date and this obituary will be updated when those plans are finalized.

Christopher Edward “Chris” Hornbuckle
April 12, 1978 – August 29, 2026
Christopher Edward “Chris” Hornbuckle, age 48, of the Coopertown Community of Springfield, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday, September 1st, in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield, with Bro. Keith Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Coopertown Church of Christ cemetery with Gary Dean Hunter, Jason Dickens, Turtle Dickerson, Taylor Pofahl, Austin Boone, Monty Head, Edwin Lance and Brian Lance serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 3-8pm Monday and again from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Hornbuckle was born April 12, 1978, in Nashville, to William Andrew and Barbara Jean Griggs Hornbuckle. He worked as a Facility Manager for DZL Management for 22 years. Chris was an avid University of Tennessee football fan, he loved drag racing and coaching baseball for many years, and was a member of the Coopertown Church of Christ.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, William Andrew Hornbuckle; and his father-in-law, Ray Hester.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Leah Hornbuckle; sons, Heath Hornbuckle and his girlfriend Kissy, and Levi Hornbuckle; a bonus son, Taylor Pofahl; mother, Barbara Penrod; brother, Mike (Traci) Irwin; sisters, Tanya Caskill and Susan (Gary) Bingham; mother-in-law, Maxine Hester; and a grand pup, Flash.

Tony Curtis Rigsby
September 6, 1958 – July 12, 2026
Tony Rigsby, born September 6th, 1958, age 67, of Springfield, passed away peacefully from this life on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, after a long illness.
His battle may have been long and hard, but in the end, Tony’s victory was won. He is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
Tony lived a carefree life, but at the same time, he was always willing to help someone in need if he could. Tony loved bass fishing and could and would call a creek bank home, especially a place called Flat Rock.
In addition to Tony’s parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Darrell, Troy, Tracy, niece Jada Graves, great-niece Kelsey Thaxton and a great nephew, Bailey Rigsby.
Tony is survived by his sister, Tina (aka “Killer”), and her husband, Randy Ellis; sister Teresa Baxter; nephew Darrell (aka “Cricket”) and his wife, Tina Thaxton; Bobby Thaxton (aka “Drack”); Nieces Leanna Keymon (aka “Monk”); Katie Keymon; nephews, Eric and Bryan Rigsby, and several great-nieces and nephews.
There will be a celebration of Tony’s life at the home of Tina and Randy Ellis on September 5th, 2026 @ 2pm (rain or shine).
