Cedar Hill Park Expansion & Clubhouse Renovation Nears Completion

CEDAR HILL, TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) — Renovations at Cedar Hill Park are progressing, with the final phase of upgrades to the Community Clubhouse nearing completion and new additions planned for the park’s outdoor space.

“The first phase of the renovation was completed last year, which involved gutting the interior and exterior of the building and replacing it with all new materials, LED lighting, windows, doors, and replacing all of the exterior metal and gutters,” said Cedar Hill Mayor John Edwards. “The second phase involved gutting the bathrooms and kitchen, installing drywall ceilings, LED lighting, and new plumbing fixtures in the bathrooms, while the kitchen renovation brought new energy-efficient appliances, stainless steel counters, and other updates.”

Additionally, the clubhouse now features a commercial-grade laminate plank flooring system, creating a modern facility for city meetings, community events, and FCE gatherings.

The park has also been expanded with the acquisition of 5.5 additional acres. “Plans include the creation of hiking and walking trails with picnic areas while preserving a portion of the land for agricultural use,” Edwards added. “A display may also be added to provide information on local farming activities.”

Other recent additions to the park include:
✅ New playground equipment for toddlers to age 12
✅ A basketball court
✅ A permanent cornhole station

Future projects under consideration include repainting the park pavilion and renovating portions of the baseball field. A concession stand upgrade is also planned, funded through the Experience Robertson County Tourism Grant.

“The park serves as a site for events, community gatherings, and sports activities,” Edwards said. “Recent improvements are expected to benefit residents for years to come.”
