Obituary for James Howard “Jimmy” Moorefield, Jr.

James Howard “Jimmy” Moorefield, Jr., 72, of Springfield, passed from this life on Saturday January 14, 2023, at his home.

There will be a time of visitation with the family on Tuesday January 17th from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Robertson County Funeral Home.

Jimmy was born December 21, 1950, in Springfield, to the late James Howard and Dorothy West Moorefield, Sr. He was a graduate of Springfield High School and a retired forklift operator with Unarco. Jimmy loved the Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Titans football. The highlight of his life was Christmas time and decorating his yard on highway 76 with many different lights. He enjoyed watching people drive by and look at the many lights of Christmas he put out. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother: Jack Moorefield.

Obituary for Eva Margaret Moore

Eva Margaret Clouse Moore, age 86, of Temple, TX, formerly of Springfield, TN, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her home in TX.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11am Saturday, January 21, 2023 in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Rev. John Paul Scott officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4-7pm Friday and again from 9am until time of the service at 11am Saturday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Moore was born May 27, 1936 in Robertson County, TN to the late Risteen Sydney and Alma Lucille Bolding Clouse. She was the eldest of 11 children and grew up poor, but you would never know it. She carried herself like a queen, full of grace and poise. She married James Harold Moore Sr., who was a military man, and they spent years traveling and living in different beautiful places all around the world. Mrs. Moore was a gardener, bird watcher, writer, and a strong Christian woman. She was a hardworking and loving mother and grandmother.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harold Moore Sr.; daughter, Karen Faye Collette-Carmody; a great granddaughter, Aliyah Faye Collette; and a brother, Donnie Dean Clouse.

Obituary for Norma Hollabaugh

Norma Frances Hollabaugh, age 91 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at her daughter’s home.

There will be a private family graveside service at a later date.

Mrs. Hollabaugh was born on July 14, 1931 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late James and Joyce Gentry Polk. She was retired after 30 years as a property manager. She was the matriarch of the family and was always helping others. She loved bingo, gambling, and most importantly her family. She was of the Catholic faith.

Obituary for Bennie Brooks Wilkinson

Bennie Brooks Wilkinson, age 79, of Springfield, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Tuesday in the Austin & Bell Funeral Home Chapel in Springfield with Bro. Richard Garza officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Chapel Cemetery with Jamie Sanganez, Joe Wilkinson, Richard Davis, Jason Putnam, Danny Johnson and Michael Szalapski serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron Deberry, Clyde Richert, David Norton Jr., and all the people Bennie has worked for throughout the years.

The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Monday, January 16, 2023 and again from 11am until time of the service at 1pm Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Wilkinson was born September 26, 1943 in Abbeville, MS to the late Howard and Lois Winters Wilkinson. Bennie was a General Contractor and worked in construction all his life. He was known as the one who basically painted the town of Springfield over the years.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkinson was preceded in death by a son, Tony (ToJo) Brooks Wilkinson; brothers, Tony Wilkinson, Billy Dean Wilkinson and Harold Kermit Wilkinson; and sisters, Marilyn Maynard and Carolyn Lambert.

Age 66 of White House passed away Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Skyline Medical Center. She was born November 30, 1956 in Lafayette, TN Alfred Douglas & Audrey Louise Knight Gosnell. She was retired as an injection molder with Aladdin Industries after 25 years of service. She enjoyed bargain shopping, mountain camping and helping people. She was a “Mama Cat” to a lot of children other than her own.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Dickie, who died December 9, 2022. Nancy Elaine Davenport, age 67 of Cross Plains, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at her home.

Memorial services will be conducted Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 3:00 PM at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church with Pastor Russ Noss and Dr. Bill Owen officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until the hour of service at the church.

Elaine was born August 19, 1955 in Springfield. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church. She worked as an insurance agent for Fred M. Smith and Hogan and Hatcher Insurance Agencies. She truly loved her job and especially working with Sam and Zena Smith, Donnie and Leigh Anne Hogan, George Hatcher, and David Fizer. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and also spending time and celebrating special occasions with her East Robertson Class of 1973 classmates.

Erron Guy Cravens, 52, of Cross Plains, passed away on Tuesday January 10, 2023, at TriStar North Crest Medical Center.

His remains were cremated, and there will be a celebration of Erron’s life on Sunday January 15, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Byrum Porter Senior Center in Orlinda.

Erron was born February 19, 1970, in Nashville. He had worked as a host at Waffle House. First, and foremost, Erron was a Christian that loved the Lord and reading his Bible. He enjoyed traveling, walking, music, animals, being outdoors, and spending time with his family. Erron was preceded in death by his father: Jerry Wayne Cravens, by his mother: Barbara Drake Brown, and by his nephew: John Dylan Christopher.

Obituary for Julia Emilia Tidwell

Age 84 of Gallatin passed away Friday, January 13, 2023 at Hendersonville Medical Center. She was born November 29, 1938 in Puerto Rico to Jose & Emilia Rivera. She worked as a homemaker. She enjoyed flower gardening, quilting and sewing. When her children were growing up she made clothes for them and was very active in the PTA. She also did sewing projects for friends and family, including making a wedding dress. She was able to provide daycare for all of her grandchildren, which made it possible for her to have a special relationship with each one. She was an active member of Hope Baptist Church in Gallatin. Mrs.

Tidwell is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Monceita Cotton and Georgina Rivera. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Glenn Tidwell, Gallatin, TN; son, David (Jennifer) Tidwell, Hendersonville, TN; daughters, Glenda (Dennis) Wiesner, South Mills, NC and Deborah (Mark) Sumner, Livonia, MI; brother, Jose (Mary) Rivera, Dearborn Heights, MI; sisters, Aida (David) Banning, Canton, MI and Rose Rivera, MI; 5 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 20 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews.

Obituary for Royce Chambliss

Royce Orman Chambliss, age 85 was born December 6, 1937 in Pleasant View, Tennessee and passed away at Signature Health Care in Clarksville, Tennessee on January 12, 2023. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #604 in Ashland City for 61 years, a member of Pleasant View Methodist Church for 75 years and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Royce lived in Pleasant View, Ashland City, Springfield and Arcadia Senior Living in Clarksville.

He retired in 1999 after enjoying a career in sales with Dura Container Company in Clarksville and Marcus Paint Company in Nashville.

Royce is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nell Frances Chambliss; his parents, Henry Orman and Sudie Chambliss; brother baby Joe: sisters, Sybil Kennedy and Mary Margaret Powell.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-laws, Glynda & Steve Maxey, Lynda & Hershel Basham and Carol & Stan Simmons; grandchildren & great-grandchildren, Matt & Ashley Maxey, Julie Beth & James, Natalie Simmons, Stacey & Brad Reece, Easton & Brooklynn; brother-in-law, Ralph Powell; nephews, Glenn, Kevin, & Bruce Kennedy and Jeff Powell; and niece, Ericka Surber.

David Carl Teasley, age 58, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at his home.

Mr. Teasley’s wishes were to be cremated and the family will be holding a family memorial service at a later date. There are no services scheduled at this time.

Mr. Teasley was born December 10, 1964 in Nashville to the late Bobby Lee and Mildred Ellen Fentress Teasley. He was a Pressman for many years, most recently with Pollock Printing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Teasley was preceded in death by a niece, Tracy Nicole Teasley.

Obituary for Verna Malone

Verna Odom Malone, age 85, of Joelton, Tennessee, died Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at the Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services were conducted at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church in Joelton at 1:00PM on Friday, January 13th, with Rev. Corey Minter and Rev. Frank Owens officiating. Burial followed in New Hope Cemetery with her grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family received friends at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church on Thursday, January 12th from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Friday at the church from 11:00AM until the hour of service at 1:00PM.

All visitation was at New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

Mrs. Malone was born on November 12, 1937 in Darlington, South Carolina, to the late Raleigh Galloway & Edith Estelle Knotts Odom. She was a retired secretary from the Free Will Baptist Bible College (now Welch College), where she was also “First Lady” during the time her husband, Tom, served as President. She also taught kindergarten at Florence Christian Academy in Alabama. Mrs. Malone was a member of New Hope Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, McIver Odom.

Survivors include her husband of over 61 years, Dr. Tom Malone; daughters, Carol Malone-Cooper (Rick), Marianne Malone, Kristi Malone Bell (Rev. Jason), Aimee Malone Scott (Rev. Len), Tommi Jo Malone Ryan (Rev. Mr. Teague was born on August 23, 1941 in Earlington, Kentucky, to the late Rufus & Lillie Pendley Teague. He was a United States Army veteran and a retired truck driver who loved fishing and boating. He had a big heart for helping others and never met a stranger. Mr. Teague was a member of Joelton Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stillborn son, Sean Teague; and 6 brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Baggett was born September 3, 1961 in Bakersfield, CA to the late Oliver and Judith Nagle Bradley. She was a Registered Nurse and worked at NorthCrest Medical Center.

Cathy was born September 30, 1960 in Cynthiana, KY. She was a member of Brewer’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She had worked for 20 years at Unarco where she met her husband Keith. She loved going to the beach and being a “Nana”. She loved her family and her day dates with her girls and also chatting and spending time with the “Golden Girls”.

Obituary for Johnny Lee Holland

Johnny Lee Holland, age 78 of Orlinda, passed from this life on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at University of Louisville Health – Jewish Hospital.

Memorial services were conducted Saturday, January 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. Coe Campbell officiating. The family received friends on Saturday from 11 AM until the time of service.

Mr. Holland was born February 1, 1944 in Nashville. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was involved with the RA’s. He grew up on a farm, served in the National Guard, and worked most of his life as a truck Driver. He retired from H.O.H. and before that drove for Reubinsville Farmers Feed Mill for many years. He was also the fire chief for the Orlinda Volunteer Fire Department at one time. In his spare time he enjoyed watching Western’s and listening to country floral squaremusic. He was preceded in death by his wife, Edwena Spivey Holland, mother, Lillie Lou Holland; his uncle who reared him, Gomard Holland; and his sister, Sadie Holland.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Tonya Holland, Jr. of Springfield and Charley Holland of Orlinda; brother and sister-in-law, Jackie and Sue Holland; and grandchildren, Jesse Holland, Emma Grace Trent, and Clayton Holland.

Age 86 of White House passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Hendersonville Medical Center. She was born February 7, 1936 in Franklin, KY to Henry & Zula Brown Carter. She worked as a homemaker. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, watching classic movies and vegetable gardening. She enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She was of the Baptist faith. She is preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Vicky Lynn Crafton; sister, Doris Carter; brothers, Jim Carter and Bill Carter.

She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Jack W. Crafton, White House, TN; son, Brett (Melanie) Crafton, Springfield, TN; daughter, Tracy Crafton, White House, TN; 4 grandchildren, Brittany (Jeromi) Critikos, Dallas Crafton, Tyler Crafton and Madison Crafton.

She was of the Nazarene faith.

Obituary for Chris Williams

On Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Christian Dean Williams, loving husband, father of two children, and grandfather of one grandchild, passed away at the age of 59.

Mr. Williams was born January 1, 1964, the New Year’s Baby, in Newport, TN, to Mr. Arthur Dean Williams and the late Mrs. Alice T. Williams. He received his Bachelor’s of Industrial Management from the University of Tennessee in 1982 and on October 14, 1989, he married Amanda Turner. They raised two children, Kathryn Christian Williams and Turner Dean Williams.

Mr. Williams was a member of Springfield Baptist Church. He loved being involved with his church where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was described as having a “gigantic smile and twinkling eyes, with a rare personality that made you feel better just by being around him”.

In addition to his mother Mr. Williams is preceded in death by his grandmother, Iota Wilson Thornton, and several beloved cousins, uncles and aunts. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 33 years, Amanda Turner Williams; his daughter, Kathryn Williams; son, Turner Williams and his fiancé, Riley; his father and his wife, Arthur Dean and Carolyn Williams; sisters and brothers-in-law, Amy and David Pitts and, Sharon and Carl Daugherty; brother-in-law, Bruce Turner; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Suzanne and Jimmy Lee; grandson, River Soloman Williams; and several nieces and nephews.

Judy Anders “NANA” Mueller, age 73 of Ashland City, Tennessee, died Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at The Residence of Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Mrs. Mueller was born on October 12, 1949 in Gadson, Alabama to the late Moses & Inez Jones Burks. She was a hairstylist for many years. She was a member of the North Cheatham Civitan Club. Judy loved to cook, dance, and to help others. She was a member of Good Springs Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Rayford Anders; her second husband, John Mueller; brother, James Burks; and granddaughter, Crystal Searcy.

Honorary pallbearers were Burton Glover, Joe Casey, Winfield Wilkins, Robert Echols, Sr., and Denny Choate.

Visitation was held at the funeral home on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 4-8pm and again on Saturday from 12pm until the hour of service at 2pm.

Mr. Austin was born November 1, 1944 in Springfield to the late Thomas E. and Susie Covington Austin, Sr. He was a funeral director and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Civitan Club, was a Mason, was a member of the Rotary Club, and was a member of the New Chapel Men’s Club.
