Obituary for Judy Marie O’Neal

Judy Marie O’Neal, 84, of Coopertown, TN, passed away on September 7, 2023, in Hendersonville, TN.

Visitation will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens Funeral Home with the funeral following at 11:30 A.M and burial at 12:30 P.M.

Judy, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and devoted wife, was born on June 17, 1939, and throughout her life, she touched the hearts of many.

She was a loving wife for 64 years to her beloved husband, Frank B. O’Neal, who stood by her side through all of life’s joys and challenges. Their enduring love and commitment were an inspiration to all who knew them.

Growing up, Judy participated in several activities such as playing the piano, being a majorette and a lifeguard. As she got older, she developed a love of being behind the camera and capturing every moment life had to offer – treasuring boxes of pictures and video tapes. She enjoyed taking road trips out west with Frank and collecting Snow Buddies figurines she found along the way.

One of her favorite pastimes was making sure her yard was the best on the block. She had great joy in keeping it looking immaculate and decorating for all the seasons. It wasn’t uncommon to pull into the driveway and see her riding the lawn mower in her straw hat.

In her professional life, Judy worked at Metro Nashville Public Schools as a library assistant and then as a bookkeeper before retiring with WDCN Channel 8 after several years.

Judy will be remembered not only for her professional contributions but also for the love and warmth she shared with her family. She leaves behind cherished memories and a legacy of love that will endure in the hearts of all who knew her.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Murray L. Stinnett and Eloise Oliver Stinnett, sister Muriel A. Jackson and husband Frank B. O’Neal.

She is survived by son Steve O’Neal and daughter-in-law Diana Pelletier and daughter Karen Bradley and son-in-law Tommy Bradley, sister Mary Lynne Hewlett (Steve Hewlett), grandchildren Magen (Carson) Kisner, Shawna O’Neal and Ryan (Melody) O’Neal, great-grandchildren, Ellie Mae, Cortland, Wayde, Reeves and Clyde– who lovingly knew her as Mammaw.

floral squarePallbearers will be Shawna O’Neal, Ryan O’Neal, Carson Kisner, Alan Jackson, Tony Jones and Steve Hewlett.

In the lieu of flowers and gifts, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. The family of Judy O’Neal wishes to extend their sincere thanks to all the wonderful people at Vitality Living for all the care shown for her.

Obituary for Gary Clark French

Gary Clark French, age 72 of Cedar Hill passed from this life on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.

Memorial services were held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. IN THE Oakhurst Chapel of Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Anderson and Matt French officiating. The family received friends on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Gary was born October 22, 1950 in New Market, TN to the late Edgar Reford “Booge” and Wanda Alice Clark French. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald E. French

Gary French was truly a one of a kind man. He loved his family and friends and had a larger than life personality. He was loved and respected by everyone that crossed paths with him. Coming from a farm in the mountains of East Tennessee, Gary has always been an avid outdoorsman and had a love for agriculture. This love for agriculture and a desire to help others, lead him to the career to which he was a cut above the rest. From PCA to Farm Credit Services and finally to Community Bank and Trust before retiring, Gary left a lasting impact on the agricultural community in Robertson County and surrounding areas. Even more so than his career, Gary’s passion for the outdoors was unmatched. At any given point, you could always find him chasing one of his hounds through the woods or in a creek trying to fill his multiple stringers with black perch. This passion led him to some of the clubs that he held very near and dear to his heart. A few of these clubs include the White Oak Fishing Club, Robertson County Coon Hunters Club and the National Plott Hound Association. As with everything he did in his life, he went above and beyond in his memberships with the respective clubs. He held numerous leadership roles throughout the years and always had the betterment of the clubs in mind. Whether it was his career or hobbies or anything in between, there’s one thing that always remained true. He never did anything half-heartedly. The life of Gary French is something that will be celebrated by all that he held near and dear to him.

floral squareSurviving him are his wife, Cindy French of Cedar Hill; sons, Andrew Clark French of Springfield and Matthew Thomas French of Cedar Hill; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and David Palmer of Springfield; and grandson, Eli Palmer.
