Millersville Barn Destroyed By Fire Early Thursday
MILLERSVILLE TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Millersville area barn is a total loss following a fire that ripped through the structure early Thursday morning, the flames visible for miles in the early dawn.
The barn is located in the 1200 block of Williamson Rd, the first call coming into 911 at 5:20 a.m.. MAP
The barn was used to store farming equipment. Three tractors, a bailer, and implements that were stored in the barn were destroyed by the fire, officials said.
According to Millersville Fire Chief Brandon Head, Williamson Road was closed for a short time while crews battled the blaze. Running tanker shuttle operations, firefighters used 15,000 gallons of water to extinguish the blaze.
When fire crews arrived the barn was already on the ground. According to Chief Head, no foul play or suspicious activity is suspected.
Chief Head added that the farmer will have to rebuild the barn without the benefit of insurance.
The Millersville Fire Department, the Goodlettsville Fire Department the Millersville Police Department, Sumner County EMS, and NES all responded to the call.
This is the second barn fire in the area in as many days. A tobacco barn was lost to fire on Tuesday. FULL STORY It too was a total loss but officials say there is no connection between the two fires.
