One Hospitalized In Three Vehicle Rollover Crash In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – One person was hospitalized following a three-vehicle rollover crash on Memorial Blvd in Springfield Wednesday Morning.

The crash occurred just before 7 am at the intersection of Memorial and 16th Ave.

According to officials, the crash was a rear-end type collision that occurred in the Southbound lanes of Memorial Blvd. Officials tell Smokey Barn News that the KIA was stopped at the light at 16th when it was impacted from behind by the Subaru.

Officials say the Subaru struck the KIA at such an angle that it caused the Subaru to overturn. The impact pushed the KIA into a pickup which sustained only minor damage.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to an area hospital, their condition is still unknown at this time.

The crash backed up Memorial Blvd for about an hour while Springfield Police investigated the crash and the scene was cleared.

This is the second rollover accident in this section of Memorial Blvd in just the past few weeks. Back on August 3rd, a rollover crash occurred just feet from where this accident occurred. Our full report on that accident is at the bottom of this report.. 

One Hospitalized In Rollover Crash In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE (Smokey Barn News) – Back on August 3rd one person was hospitalized in a two car rollover crash in Springfield.

The accident occurred on Memorial Blvd near Little Caesars Pizza around 3pm. MAP According to accident investigators with Springfield Police, preliminarily, a passenger vehicle pulling onto Memorial Blvd collided with an SUV.

The impact caused the SUV to overturn, landing on its side on the Northbound side of Memorial Blvd. The driver of the SUV was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries, according to Assistant EMS Director Russell Gupton. The driver of the passenger vehicle was not injured.

The accident intermittently closed all Northbound lanes of Memorial Blvd while crews cleaned up the scene and removed the overturned vehicle from the roadway.

Springfield Police, Springfield Fire and Robertson County EMS all responded to the crash.
