Post-Tornado, Dr. Browning & Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care Move to Permanent Location

SPRINGFIELD, TENNESSEE – After their Springfield facility was destroyed in December’s tornado, Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care has officially moved into its new (permanent) center at 2006 Memorial Blvd., between Burger King and Hardees, just right of El Molcajete. NEW LOCATION MAP This marks a significant milestone in the recovery process for Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Springfield.

The urgent care center had been operating out of a temporary trailer in front of the new facility while construction was underway. Pictured left: Dr. Matt Browning, Chief Medical Officer and MD at Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Springfield expressed immense gratitude for the community’s support during the transition. “I can’t begin to tell you how grateful me and my staff are for your encouragement and support during the last few months,” he said. “The outpouring of love and compassion has been incredible.”

December’s tornado wreaked havoc on Springfield, causing significant damage to many businesses. Fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported, but the storm left a trail of destruction. Several businesses, including Jet’s Pizza, Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care, the AT&T Store, Holman Jewelers and Valvoline Instant Oil Change, were either completely destroyed or sustained such extensive damage that they were forced to close and rebuild. The business district near Kroger was particularly hard hit, with debris scattered across parking lots and structural damage forcing many establishments to undergo significant repairs.
