Pregnant Woman And An Officer Transported Following Rollover Crash Near Coopertown

COOPERTOWN TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Two people, including a Coopertown Police Officer and a pregnant woman, were transported to area hospitals for precautionary reasons following a two-vehicle rollover crash Thursday afternoon.

The crash occurred on Old Coopertown Rd and the Hwy 49 intersection just after 12 PM.

STATEMENT FROM COOPERTOWN PD: “Officer Brown with the Coopertown Police Dept was responding to an emergency call with emergency equipment activated when she was involved in a crash with injuries located at Hwy 49 and Old Coopertown Rd. The officer and the other driver were transported to separate hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. At this time, the crash is being investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. The roadway is now open and safe for normal traffic.” Chief Tyler Haley Coopertown Police Dept.

According to officials, both drivers were wearing safety restraints which likely minimized injuries.
