Springfield Armed Robbery: Suspect In Custody (VIDEO)
SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Springfield Police have made an arrest in a brazen armed robbery that occurred on Tuesday. On Tuesday a man with a gun walked into the Gold Star Market located on the corner of 5th Ave and Central in Springfield early Tuesday, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money.
Now Springfield police say this man, Jerry Scott Washington of Gallatin (pictured left) has been taken into custody as a possible suspect.
The robbery occurred at 7:22a.m. The suspect first entered the store and asked about the price of a can of beer then left the store. Minutes later he returned with a gun and demanded money. What he received was $5 and a pack of smokes, hardly worth the 8 to 12 years he will be facing in the state penitentiary once he is captured. Original story.
