Springfield Names New Assistant Fire Chief

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – After 44 years of service to the citizens of Springfield, Fire Chief Jimmy Hamill retired back in January. FULL STORY Following Hamill’s departure, Jeff Glodoski, an 18-year veteran with the department, was named the department’s new fire chief. FULL STORY Now the city has announced another promotion in the chain of command.

The city of Springfield has announced that Joseph Boland will step in as the city’s new Assistant Fire Chief reporting to Chief  Glodoski.

According to a release by the city, Boland has been serving the Springfield Fire Department since 2003. Boland is a graduate of White House High School and continues to pursue his education at Volunteer State Community College, pursuing a degree in Fire Science.

He is a certified Fire Officer II with the Tennessee Commission on Fire Fighting. He is also a certified Emergency Vehicle Extrication Technician through the Tennessee Association of Rescue Squads. Boland is licensed by the Tennessee Department of Health to practice as an Emergency Medical Responder.
