Springfield Names Ryan Martin As City Manager

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – The Springfield Board of Mayor & Aldermen voted unanimously to approve an employment contract with Ryan Martin as the new City Manager during the board’s regular meeting Nov. 17. He replaces Gina Holt who is retiring at the end of this year after more than twenty-nine years with the City of Springfield.

A Springfield native, Martin has more than a decade of experience working in local government including the last three as the assistant city manager. He graduated from the University of Tennessee with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and received his Juris Doctorate from the Nashville School of Law.

“I am grateful for the opportunity granted by the Board of Mayor & Aldermen to serve the citizens of Springfield,” said Ryan Martin. “It is an honor to be able to serve my hometown. We have a very talented and capable team, and we are excited to continue to move Springfield forward together.”

He currently serves on the board of directors of the NorthCrest Foundation and the Robertson County Family YMCA. Ryan is also a member of the Tennessee City Management Association (TCMA) and the Springfield Rotary Club. Ryan is also a graduate of Leadership Robertson County and the MTAS Municipal Management Academy.

Martin will begin his new role as City Manager on January 1, 2021.
