Spike In COVID Cases Prompt Springfield High/Middle To Go Virtual
ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – According to officials with the Robertson County Schools, on Thursday, Dec. 10, Springfield High School and Springfield Middle School will transition from classroom instruction to a 100% virtual instruction model until Dec. 18, which is the final day of the first semester for the 2020-2021 school-year. This change is necessary due to an increase in the number of COVID19 cases among students and staff in both schools.
Students will receive instruction via Microsoft TEAMS each day and will be under their teacher’s direct instruction. Attendance will still be taken and recorded just as if each student were attending in person. Teachers who are not quarantined or isolated will be in their classroom and conducting daily lessons through virtual media.
School offices will remain open during this time. School meals for Thursday and Friday will be sent home with the students on Wednesday afternoon. Information regarding school meals for the week of Dec. 14th will be shared soon.
Parents and guardians whose children require technology or internet help should contact their individual school for that assistance. All athletic events involving these two schools will be canceled from December 10 – December 18. Your child’s individual coach will contact you regarding future events or practices.
