Advance Auto Parts Robbery Suspect Arrested, Charged With Multiple Robberies 

SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Around 5:20 pm Tuesday afternoon, the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and Springfield Police Department conducted a search warrant at a home located on Mariview Drive in Springfield.

The search led to the arrest of John Kyler Ray Osborne, 23, of Springfield TN for robberies at an Advance Auto Parts store and a Dollar General, both located in Springfield, TN.

During the course of the search at the home, the alleged vehicle used in the Advance Auto Parts Robbery on Memorial Blvd was found along with other evidence at the scene from a robbery at a Dollar General Store on Tom Austin Highway in Springfield on January 20th, 2020.

Osborne has been charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault x2 by the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office for the robbery at the Dollar General Store. He has also been charged with Aggravated Robbery and Aggravated Assault by the Springfield Police Department for the robbery at Advance Auto Parts. Osborne’s initial bond has been set at $260,000.

“Investigators with the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office and the Springfield Police Department did a great job in taking a violent criminal off the streets. This is another great example of law enforcement agencies working together to keep our City and County residents safe,” stated Sheriff Michael Van Dyke.

Back in 2014, Osborne was arrested following a shooting incident in Springfield. At the time Osborne was charged with 2 counts of Aggravated Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. According to the Robertson County DA’s Office, the charges were later dropped “without prejudice” which means the charges could be brought back at a later date within the statute of limitations. SPRINGFIELD TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Around 2 pm Thursday afternoon a white male entered Advance Auto Parts on Memorial Blvd in Springfield, brandished a gun and demanded money. MAP

According to Springfield Police, the suspect, wearing a mask, entered the store and pulled out a “large handgun,” and pointed it at the clerk. The subject then jumped over the counter and emptied the cash register.

The subject fled on foot to awaiting silver (earlier reported as gold) SUV with a rust-colored driver side door.

The vehicle was last seen in the area of Matthews Street and 16th Ave. MAP

Springfield Police are still gathering details and searching the area. As more information is released, we will bring it to you.
