Register Today!: For Sept. 16th Robertson Co. Youth Dove Hunt 2023
The TWRA (Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency) Will be holding a Robertson County Youth Dove Hunt Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 11AM to 7Pm at the Highland Rim Experiment Station – UT Farm located at 3181 Experiment Station Road Springfield, TN 37172
Registration thru Friday, September 15, 2023 12:00 PM. Also from 11am-noon the day of the hunt. Lunch will be provided, Activities prior to the hunt. Registration required, 50 hunter limit, ages 10-16. Youth hunters must have passed Hunter Education and possess all applicable hunting licenses.
Only 1 firearm per staked hunting position. Each youth hunter must be accompanied by one non-hunting adult, 21 or older.

Sept. 9: FAMILY EVENT: Meet The Orlinda Fire Dept. – (Food & Family Fun)
Following the retirement of husband and wife duo Dusty and Nancy Johnson (Orlinda Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief respectively), Captain and Acting Chief – Patrick Darrow has taken the reins of the Volunteer Orlinda Fire Department.
Off and running, Chief Darrow is hard at work with a new team and he’s invited the community to a special family event. It will be a great “and fun” opportunity to meet the new team!
Oftentimes, the introduction to first responders and all their amazing lifesaving equipment comes with a 911 call for help. Chief Darrow thought a better way to meet the team would be a family event with bouncy houses, games, and food!
“Stop by for lunch and let the kids have fun on our bouncy house, face paintings, a tour of the fire trucks, and handouts,” Darrow said.
It’s a four-hour event filled with fun, food, Fire truck tours, and conversation!

United Ministries of Springfield will be hosting a Drive Thru Food Pantry on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 9:00AM til 11:00 AM.
The location will be in the back parking lot of the First Baptist Church on North Main Street in Springfield. Recipients will need to bring their ID and have space in their vehicle for food.

Sept. 30: EVENT: Coopertown 3rd Annual PD Touch-A-Truck
Mark your calendars!! On September 23, 2023, Coopertown will celebrate its 3rd Annual Touch-A-Truck Event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Touch-A-Truck allows citizens of all ages (children and adults) to get a close-up look at vehicles and equipment utilized by law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other first responder or rescue services. It also provides a fantastic chance to speak one-on-one with first responders and support the Shop-With-A-Cop program to ensure disadvantaged children in Coopertown receive gifts for Christmas.

Veterans Motorplex at the Rim (formerly Highland Rim Speedway) is a 1/4 mile oval asphalt track located off Exit 104 on I-65, just 20 minutes north of Nashville, TN.

About Veterans Motorplex at the Rim
Built in 1961 originally as a dirt track, Highland Rim Speedway has played host to several NASCAR legends, including the Alabama Gang. In addition, Highland Rim Speedway is the site of country music legend and racer Marty Robbins’ first racing victory.
Veteran’s Motorplex races the Pro 8 Late Model Series, Sportsman, Super Stock, Pure Stock, Legends, Bandoleros, Ridge runners, Baby Grand, Rim Runner, and Pro-4 Mod divisions.
Everyone can get great souvenir items as well as photos and videos of the racing action at the Souvenir Alley Souvenir Stand!

The White House Farmers Market’s season is every Wednesday from mid-May through mid-August from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM. The Market is located at 420 HWY 76 (White House Municipal Park), White House, TN 37188.
The market dates for 2023 are May 17th – August 30th.

Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays – Lunch at the RC Senior Center by Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a service through Mid Cumberland that provides hot healthy meals to Senior Adults (age 60 and above) who cannot get one otherwise. There is not an income requirement and meals are free. Donations are accepted at any time.
If you would like to join us at the Senior Center for a congregate meal at lunch time, we would love to have you join us. You might even decide to stay and play a round of dominos, cards, or bingo.
Note: There is a form to fill out for all participants that can be picked at the center.
This is a good way to gather, make new friends, and enjoy some laughter. We look forward to seeing you!!

If you are struggling to put food on your table they can help.
