Sept. 9: FAMILY EVENT: Meet The Orlinda Fire Dept. – (Food & Family Fun)

FAMILY EVENT: Meet The Orlinda Fire Dept. - (Food & Family Fun)

Following the retirement of husband and wife duo Dusty and Nancy Johnson (Orlinda Fire Chief and Assistant Fire Chief respectively), Captain and Acting Chief – Patrick Darrow has taken the reins of the Volunteer Orlinda Fire Department.

Off and running, Chief Darrow is hard at work with a new team and he’s invited the community to a special family event. It will be a great “and fun” opportunity to meet the new team!

Oftentimes, the introduction to first responders and all their amazing lifesaving equipment comes with a 911 call for help. Chief Darrow thought a better way to meet the team would be a family event with bouncy houses, games, and food!

“Stop by for lunch and let the kids have fun on our bouncy house, face paintings, a tour of the fire trucks, and handouts,” Darrow said.

It’s a four-hour event filled with fun, food, Fire truck tours, and conversation!

Where: Orlinda Park

When: September 9, 2023, 10 AM to 2 PM

In keeping with the tradition of Dusty Johnson’s great leadership, we’re looking forward to ongoing involvement with the community!

Free hotdogs for kids, adult BBQ chicken plates $10 drinks $1

*The money made from the plates will go to the fire department.
