Raised in California, Carolyn embraced her identity as a “valley girl” and treasured her experiences growing up in the Golden State. However, it was in Tennessee that she found her true sense of belonging. Carolyn’s warm heart and welcoming nature made her a beloved member of her community.

Above all, Carolyn was a devoted mother who wholeheartedly invested her time and love in her children’s lives. She actively participated in their school activities and extracurricular pursuits, serving as their constant source of support and encouragement. This dedication extended to her role as a grandmother, where she found immense joy in watching her grandchildren blossom. Whether it was cheering Makenna on during her dance performances or attending Luke, Weston, and Garrett’s football games and wrestling matches, Carolyn reveled in their achievements and took pride in their accomplishments.

One of Carolyn’s passions was her love for the musical “Wicked.” Her enthusiasm for the show was unparalleled, and she proudly boasted having seen it an impressive 19 times. Her deep appreciation for the arts showcased her vibrant personality and zest for life.

Carolyn possessed a unique gift—the ability to strike up a conversation with anyone she encountered. Her friendly demeanor and genuine interest in others made her a beloved figure in her community. Whether it was a neighbor or a stranger in an elevator, Carolyn’s ability to connect with people left a lasting impression. Her absence leaves an immense void in the lives of those who knew her best.

Carolyn’s loving nature, infectious laughter, and genuine kindness will be deeply missed. As we gather to celebrate her life, let us hold on to the memories of her warm conversations, her unwavering support, and her passion for life.

Carolyn’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who carry her love and spirit within them. May her memory inspire us to approach life with the same warmth and kindness that she exemplified.

Obituary for Malcolm Anderson Wilson ll

Malcolm Anderson Wilson ll “Andy”-age 52, a long time resident of Pleasant View, TN, currently of Orange Beach, AL, passed away suddenly at Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, FL on Thursday June 1, 2023.

He is now in Glory with his precious Heavenly Father, his Savior, his beloved earthly father, Malcolm Anderson Wilson “Mac”, his father-in-law Sam Harris, and mother-in-law Shirley Harris. Andy is survived by his wife Stacie Harris Wilson, his pride and joy daughter Emma Grace, mother Charlie Wilson, sister Lisa Ellis, brother-in-law Jamie Ellis, nephew Bryce Ellis and his wife Kaitlin, many cousins, dear friends, Frank and Sheila Spickler, Chris and Allison Simpkins, Chip and Amy McClure.

Andy graduated from Pleasant View Christian School (1989) and Middle Tennessee State University (1995). He was a true Big Orange fan and proud Auburn dad.

In 1989 Andy met a girl, that girl became a young lady and his wife, of 26 years. Andy and Stacie did love and life together, then added Emma Grace in 1999 and became one of the tightest little families you have ever seen.

Endearingly he called her “Willy T” but her birth name of Emma Grace tells a very small part of the beautiful Southern young lady that she is. Andy’s voice and huge smile told it all when he spoke her name and would tell of what she was up to, where she had been and where she was going-oh the places she has been, because Andy wanted the world to be wide open to her. His love for Emma will never be surpassed.

While some people work in aviation, others live it. Andy Wilson lived aviation and in a way only a big guy with a huge personality can, he brought joy and happiness to everyone he met. Andy loved aviation, he loved the airplanes and he loved the people.

Andy is from Pleasant View, TN, a small town halfway between the city and the country. If you knew Andy, you knew he was a little of both, the most dapper Tennessee Gentleman that any of us knew. Andy was the best-dressed, big guy, in aviation. But when at home, he was more likely to be in shorts and flip-flops, perusing the neighborhood or headed to the beach on his golf cart, smoking a cigar with his faithful dog Duke by his side.

If he wasn’t sporting his signature sport-coat, he might be wearing a kilt. Seriously, a kilt. If you haven’t seen a guy that big in a kilt, it’s something to see.

Andy was a passionate music lover. Not only did he love to listen to music, he loved to play music and sing. He sang tenor in various bluegrass bands for years and was an excellent guitar and mandolin player and had recently taken up the bagpipes. Much to the delight of his neighbors who enjoyed an occasional evening serenade.

Andy meant so much to so many, few people have made the impact that Andy made, he will be missed by many, all who knew him called him friend.

Andy Wilson loved the Lord, and the Lord knew him and yes, our Lord called him friend.

Andy’s interest in history and family genealogy impacted his wishes to have his ashes scattered over the Highlands of Scotland.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023 at The Cedars At Carr Farm, 3795 Turnersville Rd, Cedar Hill, TN 37032. Visitation will begin at 2pm with the memorial service beginning at 3pm.

A college fund has been established to assist Andy’s daughter, Emma Grace, as she begins classes this August for a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL.

floral squareContributions can be made payable to: Wilson Memorial Fund C/O Simmons Bank 198 E. Main Street, Suite 100 Franklin, TN 37064

The family wishes to thank their Bible Fellowship class, their church, First Baptist Church Gulf Shores Alabama, and the Cotton Bayou/Carondelette neighbors. All who have embraced and covered them with love and comfort during this unimaginable time.
