Obituary for Malcolm Anderson Wilson ll

Malcolm Anderson Wilson ll “Andy”-age 52, a long time resident of Pleasant View, TN, currently of Orange Beach, AL, passed away suddenly at Sacred Heart hospital in Pensacola, FL on Thursday June 1, 2023.

He is now in Glory with his precious Heavenly Father, his Savior, his beloved earthly father, Malcolm Anderson Wilson “Mac”, his father-in-law Sam Harris, and mother-in-law Shirley Harris. Andy is survived by his wife Stacie Harris Wilson, his pride and joy daughter Emma Grace, mother Charlie Wilson, sister Lisa Ellis, brother-in-law Jamie Ellis, nephew Bryce Ellis and his wife Kaitlin, many cousins, dear friends, Frank and Sheila Spickler, Chris and Allison Simpkins, Chip and Amy McClure.

Andy graduated from Pleasant View Christian School (1989) and Middle Tennessee State University (1995). He was a true Big Orange fan and proud Auburn dad.

In 1989 Andy met a girl, that girl became a young lady and his wife, of 26 years. Andy and Stacie did love and life together, then added Emma Grace in 1999 and became one of the tightest little families you have ever seen.

Endearingly he called her “Willy T” but her birth name of Emma Grace tells a very small part of the beautiful Southern young lady that she is. Andy’s voice and huge smile told it all when he spoke her name and would tell of what she was up to, where she had been and where she was going-oh the places she has been, because Andy wanted the world to be wide open to her. His love for Emma will never be surpassed.

While some people work in aviation, others live it. Andy Wilson lived aviation and in a way only a big guy with a huge personality can, he brought joy and happiness to everyone he met. Andy loved aviation, he loved the airplanes and he loved the people.

Andy is from Pleasant View, TN, a small town halfway between the city and the country. If you knew Andy, you knew he was a little of both, the most dapper Tennessee Gentleman that any of us knew. Andy was the best-dressed, big guy, in aviation. But when at home, he was more likely to be in shorts and flip-flops, perusing the neighborhood or headed to the beach on his golf cart, smoking a cigar with his faithful dog Duke by his side.

If he wasn’t sporting his signature sport-coat, he might be wearing a kilt. Seriously, a kilt. If you haven’t seen a guy that big in a kilt, it’s something to see.

Andy was a passionate music lover. Not only did he love to listen to music, he loved to play music and sing. He sang tenor in various bluegrass bands for years and was an excellent guitar and mandolin player and had recently taken up the bagpipes. Much to the delight of his neighbors who enjoyed an occasional evening serenade.

Andy meant so much to so many, few people have made the impact that Andy made, he will be missed by many, all who knew him called him friend.

Andy Wilson loved the Lord, and the Lord knew him and yes, our Lord called him friend.

Andy’s interest in history and family genealogy impacted his wishes to have his ashes scattered over the Highlands of Scotland.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday June 25, 2023 at The Cedars At Carr Farm, 3795 Turnersville Rd, Cedar Hill, TN 37032. Visitation will begin at 2pm with the memorial service beginning at 3pm.

A college fund has been established to assist Andy’s daughter, Emma Grace, as she begins classes this August for a Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology at Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL.

floral squareContributions can be made payable to: Wilson Memorial Fund C/O Simmons Bank 198 E. Main Street, Suite 100 Franklin, TN 37064

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.- 2 Timothy 4:7

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Santos Wilder Sontay-Perez. He left us on June 1st, 2023, leaving a void in the lives of all those who knew him. (News Report)

Santos was born in Springfield on December 6th, 2000. Known to his family and friends as Chato, Toto, Fathead, Willi, San Tooch, or Jr and a true lover of food especially his mamas food. Those who knew him well describe him as respectful, skillful, helpful, and sometimes grumpy. He enjoyed playing soccer and running track; he was also an avid car enthusiast who devoted much of his time to his treasured Nissan 370Z.

Santos’s accomplishments were many, but he was most proud of the time he dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes, where he volunteered for anything that needed to be done.

He will always be remembered by his family: his parents, Santos Anastacio Sontay-Guox and Maria Magdalena Perez-Perez; siblings Ervin Maguiver Sontay-Perez, Wendy Marisol Sontay-Perez, James Sontay-Perez, Magdalena Sontay-Perez, and Noemi Sontay-Perez; grandparents Serapio Sontay-Pelico, Maria Celsa Guox-Herrera, Santos Eucebio Perez-Perez and Santo Perez-Perez; as well as nieces and nephews Yaretzi, Adrian, Eithan, Joan, and Mateo. Santos had a great love for his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Throughout his lifetime Santos lived for work whenever there was work he was there. From graduating Springfield High School in 2019 to attending TCAT in Portland and working at Lowes and as an Electrician. He took pleasure in playing soccer and spending time with his loved ones. All those close to him will remember the many showers he would take that would start after waking up before work began then coming back home from work to right after soccer matches- it was a simple pleasure that he wholeheartedly enjoyed.

Translation:

Obituary for William Lawrence Mayfield Sr.

It is with great sadness that I share with you that William Lawrence Mayfield Sr., better know as “Larry”, passed away on May 14, 2023, at 12:21am.

Larry was a dedicated family man who loved his work, coffee, and Gospel music. Having been raised in the church as a preachers son, Larry gravitated to Gospel music at a very early age. In fact, it was his singing that introduced him to his beautiful wife Margery.

Known throughout the Gospel community as a commanding bass singer, Larry cherished his time as a member of the Ambassadors, as well as many other quartets in the middle Tennessee area.

floral squareDuring and after his active singer years, Larry found fulfillment in attending “singings”, collecting records, and sharing his finds with his peers, or the family members of those who passed on. He found tremendous joy in keeping the history of Gospel Music alive and sharing it with those who shared his passion.

Larry is survived by his wife Margery, children Laray and Larry, grandchildren Sabyn, Austin, Haley, and Tristen, and great grandchildren Trent, Nora, and Jasper. He was preceded in passing by his daughter Karen.
