Long Time Robertson County EMA Dir R.L. Douglas Retires

ROBERTSON COUNTY TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Long time Robertson County Emergency Management Agency Director RL Douglas has retired.

“R.L.’s long career has always been about protecting the people of Robertson County and surrounding areas. He has selflessly given decades of his life to this work. We will miss his dedication, his leadership and his heart. We will always appreciate his many years of service. We wish R.L. all the best in his future, and we will never forget all his has done for Robertson County.” Robertson County Mayor Billy Vogle

Following RL’s retirement, Deputy Director Chance Holmes will step in as the interim director.

From suspicious packages to gas spills, rollover crashes to Governor Inaugurations RL Douglas has been the go-to man for many years in Robertson County. When it came to anything with the potential to harm citizens, RL Douglas always knew what to do. The staff at Smokey Barn News would like to wish RL the best as he enjoys a well-deserved retirement.

“It has been my pleasure to work under Dir. Douglas in Emergency Management. We have worked together side by side even before I joined EMA. I’m truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work for him and be the benefactor of all of his experience. It will not be the same without him.” Chance Holmes

After many years in fire service, Chance Holmes joined Robertson EMA about two years ago, becoming the Deputy Director. Holmes now takes on the new role of Interim Director of the Emergency Management Agency.  MORE
