POLICE: Suspect Confesses To Arson In Ridgetop
RIDGETOP TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – A Goodlettsville man has been taken into custody and charged with arson following an RV fire in the Ridgetop area last Wednesday.
Firefighters from White House Community, Greenbrier and Ridgetop responded to the fire located in the 5000 block of Smiley Hollow Road near Ridgetop. MAP
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office has taken Wesley Searcy, 20, of Goodlettsville into custody and charged him with setting the fire.
A witness told police that Searcy set fire to the RV, according to a police report on the incident. Police say that after setting the fire Searcy left the scene on foot down Smiley Hollow Road in the direction of Ridgetop Tennessee.
Ridgetop Police caught up with Searcy on Smiley Hollow Road at Betts Road. Deputy Mark Strobel of the Robertson County Sheriff’s Office arrived shortly after. In a report obtained by Smokey Barn News, Deputy Strobel indicates that Searcy admitted to setting fire to the RV and Searcy was then placed under arrest for Arson.
Searcy is currently being held at the Robertson County Detention Facility under a $25,000 Bond for arson. His court date is set for December 6, 2016.
