THURSDAY

A local man faces DUI charges after crashing into a tree in Greenbrier Thursday afternoon. The crash occurred in the 2200 block of Kelly Willis Road, with the first 911 call at 3:14 PM. Detective Joseph Chelini reported the airbags deployed, but the driver was uninjured. He was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI, tampering with evidence, and having an open container. The investigation is ongoing.TUESDAY: 7:21 PM

Two-Vehicle Injury Crash on Tom Austin Highway
At least three people were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash in the 1800 block of Tom Austin Highway, just before Pebblebrook Golf Course. The crash backed up traffic while Coopertown Police investigated the crash and the scene cleared.
UPDATE: Eduardo Marin driving the GMC Acadia has been charged with: vehicular assault and driving under the influence. He is now at the Robertson County detention facility in Springfield.

**BIG LOTS IN SPRINGFIELD TO STAY!** 🎉
You may have heard that Big Lots has been going through some changes, with plans to close over 300 stores nationwide. However, **Smokey Barn News** has confirmed that Big Lots in Springfield is **not** slated for closure. Keeshelle Butler, the furniture manager at Big Lots told Smokey Barn News that the Springfield store is profitable, and they absolutely love being part of the Springfield/Robertson County community. They’re glad to announce they’re not closing and invite you to come visit their store soon!

UPDATE: THP RETURNS
The Tennessee Highway Patrol’s Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) returned to Springfield to take additional measurements on Memorial Boulevard at the location where a trooper’s patrol vehicle struck a pedestrian on Sunday evening. We are still working to gather more information, including the condition and identity of the pedestrian. For the full story — > CLICK HERE
Smokey Barn News has learned that CIRT was also out taking additional measurements today at the location of a fatal motorcycle crash in Greenbrier that occurred on September 10. FULL STORY
MONDAY
2 Semis collide 
Highway 431 at Lakeview Road was closed for several hours on Monday after two tractor-trailers collided. This was an injury crash, and both drivers were reportedly transported to area hospitals with non-critical injuries. A diesel fuel spill required a lengthy cleanup, and both tractor-trailers had to be removed from the scene, keeping the intersection closed for several hours.
