Emergency Pet Oxygen Masks Donated To Local Firefighters
ORLINDA TENNESSEE: (Smokey Barn News) – Local firefighters have added another tool to their arsenal of life-saving equipment, pet oxygen masks.
A company called Invisible Fence of Middle Tennessee is donating pet oxygen masks to any fire department that asks for them. Oxygen masks designed for people are commonly used during emergency pet resuscitation but they really don’t do the job. The new masks are designed to be a perfect fit for K-9’s and cats too.
On Wednesday morning a company representative from Invisible Fence came out to the Orlinda Fire Department and presented several of the life-saving pet oxygen mask kits to Fire Chief Dusty Johnson. Johnson told Smokey Barn News that he was very grateful for the masks as he wasted no time putting a kit on each of his engines.
The need for pet oxygen masks is greater than you might think. You can see the masks in action by clicking on the photos or the two links below.
“It’s a nationwide program,” said Jef Fox, Manager of Sales and Marketing for Invisible Fence. “We love animals, it’s what we do, it’s one more thing to help keep them safe,” Fox said.
According to Fox, any fire station that would like to receive donated pet oxygen masks can call 615 292-2900.
Over 7000 masks have been donated since the program started, Fox said. For a good look at the masks scroll down.
Invisible Fence offers (as their name says) invisible fences for dogs. According to their site, an invisible fence offers dogs greater freedom while keeping them out of harm’s way. It’s an alternative to a bulky wood or wire fence. For more about Invisible Fence CLICK HERE
