Obituary for William “Petie” Rice

William Jerry “Petie” Rice, Jr., age 64, of Greenbrier, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021, at Skyline Medical Center in Nashville. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 2pm in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Brother Jeff Archey and Brother Keith Howell officiating. Burial will follow in the Springfield Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4-8pm and again on Thursday from 12pm until the hour of service.

Mr. Rice was born August 18, 1956 in Springfield to the late William Jerry and Shirley White Rice, Sr. He worked in the Parts and Service Department at Tracy Langston Ford in Springfield and was a member of the Hillcrest Church of Christ. He loved his family, Vanderbilt Men’s Basketball and football, the Predators, fishing and camping, his church and his Jeep.

floral squareIn addition to his parents Mr. Rice is preceded in death by his daughters, Jada Beth Rice and Jana Lee Rice and his sister, Teata Rice. Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Connie Dale Lee Rice; son, Robert Steven (Donita) Brown; sister, Joyce (Mike) Gupton; brother, Mitchell (Carolyn) Rice; and granddaughters, Amelia Faith Brown and Reagan Elizabeth Brown.

Obituary for Michael Shane Simmons

Michael Shane Simmons, age 38, of Gallatin, passed away suddenly on Friday, May 7, 2021 at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center.

Michael was a goofy and fun-loving guy who knew how to make people laugh and had the biggest heart in the world. He loved his family, loved his work and loved ridding four wheelers.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Judy Simmons.

Obituary for Nicholas Killion

Nicholas Edward Killion, age 31, of Adams, passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at his home. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Killion was born May 22, 1989 in San Bernadino, CA to Johnny and Tina Killion of Adams. He worked as a computer technician and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

It is with a heavy heart that Nic is no longer with us. Our hearts are shattered because we didn’t have enough time with him. There’s never enough time when someone you love departs the earth.

Nic loved fiercely, family was his priority above all else. If you knew Nic, you would know he would have done all he could in his power to help a friend out in need.

Mr. George Woods, 83 OF Springfield departed his earthly life and entered into his eternal life on Sunday, May 9, 2021.

Jennifer Brooke Washer Woody, 40, of Greenbrier, passed away on Sunday May 9, 2021 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Memorial services will be conducted Sunday May 16 at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother Joe Rushing officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Jennifer was born October 13, 1980 in Madison. She was a graduate of Springfield High School and received her Nursing degree from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, KY. Jennifer had worked as a registered nurse with Skyline Medical Center and was of the Church of Christ faith. Jennifer loved listening to music and being a mother to her children. She was preceded in death by her grandparents: Bill and Sylvia Wieger, Freddie and Elizabeth Washer.

Obituary for Jackie Mae Cobb

On Friday, May 7, 2021, Jackie Mae Cobb, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 86. Her family and friends were the pride and joy of her life. The legacy of her kindness, compassion, and care will live on through those who knew her.

Visitation will be held at the Robertson County Funeral Home on Friday, May 14, from 11 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., with a graveside service to follow at 2:30 p.m. in the Mt. Sharon Cemetery with Reverend Diane Coppock officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Cobb, Harold Axley, Terry Ellis, Michael Baldwin, Robert Clinard, and Tommy Clinard.

Jackie was born on September 23, 1934, in Nashville, Tennessee, to Jack and Dollie Mae (Dillard) Jones. She graduated from Coopertown High School in 1952.

She married Charles Martin Cobb in August of 1955, and the two lived briefly in South Carolina and Illinois before settling in Springfield, Tennessee, to raise two children, Bettye Ann and Bryant Andrew. For many years, she brought optimism, generosity, and dedicated service to her work at Wal-Mart and at church, where she cherished the friendship of her co-workers and church family. She was a member of Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, and also attended Palestine United Methodist Church with her sister Linda, and where her mother was a member for many years.

Jackie is preceded in death by her husband, Charles, as well as her parents, and brother Jady Lee Jones. She is survived by siblings Martha Nell Clinard of Cedar Hill, Bobby Wayne and Margaret Jones of Lebanon, Wallace Edward Jones of Watertown, Mary Ellen floral squareGibbs of California, and Linda Faye Clinard, as well as her lifelong friend Aline Crutcher, her two children, and two grandchildren, Jessica Axley and Emily Cobb.

Obituary for Robert Conrad White

Robert White, age 56, died March 26, 2021 (8/18/1964-3/26/2021) in Hollow Rock, TN after a two-month battle with cancer. He was a Veteran of the US Army, stationed in Germany.

Robert was born to Earl and Margie Parrish White in Madison, TN on 8/18/1964.

He was known as “the computer guy” and was employed by Hexpol in Huntingdon,TN.

Roberts wishes were to be cremated. He will be laid to rest in Palmers Shelter Cemetery, Huntingdon, TN next to his Father, Earl Richard White.

He will be remembered as a hard worker, extremely intelligent man who loved and respected everyone and gave freely of all he had.

A Celebration of Life was held on April 1, 2021 with family and friends reflecting on his life well lived and well loved.

Galen Wade Allen, 74, of Greenbrier, passed away on Friday May 7, 2021 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 11th at 11:00 a.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Brother James Shoulders officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Brian Lepage, Chuck Adcock, and Daniel Allen serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Galen was born March 1, 1947 in Russellville, KY to the late Myron Allen and Christine Pitts Allen. He was a retired insurance agent with AIG and was of the Baptist faith. Galen enjoyed playing golf and watching westerns on TV. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother: Aileen Allen, and by his brother: Richard “Dickey” Allen.

Granville Lee Busey, 90, of Springfield, passed from this life on Thursday May 6, 2021 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday May 11th at 2:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Pastor Nick Herring officiating. Interment will follow in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Bill Davenport, Jr., Chuck Head, Jerry Dixon, Michael Gorham, Kenny Gorham, and Matt Little serving as pallbearers. Robert Bull will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. There will be an Eastern Star service at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.

Mr. Granville was born October 22, 1930 in Readyville, TN to the late Arthur Ernest and Hattie Emiline Barrett Busey. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Granville was a retired accountant and office manager with the Robertson County Clerk’s office. He was a member of Woodland Street United Methodist Church, where he served as church treasurer for many years and was a member of the Methodist Layman’s Association. Mr. Granville was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Masonic Temple, and Western Star Lodge. He was a Worthy Grand Patron and was the State Grand Treasurer for over 30 years with the Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Granville enjoyed many things in life, but his life revolved around his family, his church, and his involvement and dedication with the Eastern Star.

Vicki Beerman Jenkins, 69, of Springfield, passed from this life on Tuesday May 4, 2021 at The Residence at Alive Hospice in Nashville.

Funeral services were conducted Friday May 7th at 1:00 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Interment followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with James Williams, Alec Spears, Michael Spears, Timmy Holland, Jeremy Beerman, Michael Hyde, and Jeff Beerman serving as pallbearers. The family received friends on Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Friday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.

Vicki was born December 29, 1951 in Springfield to the late Charles and Elizabeth Rather Beerman. She was a graduate of Jo Byrns High School. Vicki worked in assembly at Holley in Springfield and attended North Springfield Baptist Church. Vicki loved sports, especially the Tennessee Lady Vols. She coached her daughters in softball when they were growing up, and then she coached her granddaughters in basketball. Vicki always enjoyed feeding and seeing the hummingbirds at her house, and her family, especially her grandchildren, were her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Chuck Beerman, and by her sister: Jean Burchett. Vicki is survived by her husband: Jerry Jenkins of Springfield, by her daughters and son-in-law: Stacy and Michael Spears of Springfield, Amanda Williams of Springfield, by her grandchildren: Jayce floral squareFuqua, Morgan Singer, James Williams, Alec Spears, and Victoria Williams, and by her sisters and brothers-in-law: Gail and Dan Bush of Springfield, Paula and Bill Sandy of Cottontown, Kathy and George Smith of Springfield.

Obituary for Edgar Harrell

Edgar Alvin Harrell, age 96 of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Saturday, May 8, 2021 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville.

Funeral services will be conducted at Calvary Bible Church, 5245 Clarksville Highway, Joelton, TN 37080 at 10:30AM on Saturday, May 15th, with his son, Dr. David Harrell, and Chaplain Kenneth Kerr (retired Colonel United States Army) officiating.

Burial will follow at 2:30PM in Murray Memorial Gardens, Murray, Kentucky with his grandsons serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the Calvary Bible Church on Friday, May 14th from 4:00PM until 7:00PM and again on Saturday from 9:30AM until the hour of service at 10:30AM.

Mr. Harrell was born on October 10th, 1924 in Trigg County, Kentucky to the late Alvin H. and Myra Belle Atwood Harrell. He was a retired Distributor with Pella Window Company and was a member of Calvary Bible Church.

He was a decorated World War II Marine who fought in the Pacific theater aboard the USS INDIANAPOLIS and was the last surviving Marine of her sinking (the greatest naval catastrophe at sea in the history of the Navy), a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal, and received an honorary promotion to the rank of Sergeant in 2018. More importantly, he was a godly man with a deep love for Christ and a longing for His return.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ola Mae Harrell; daughter, Cathey Tierney; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.

Joyce O. Crunk, 79, of Greer, South Carolina went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Born, May 23, 1941, she was the daughter of Estel and Nora Dell Osborne of Cross Plains, TN. After raising her own children, she enjoyed teaching others in preschool and Sunday School. She is currently a member of Mitchell Road Presbyterian Church, Greenville, SC.

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Duckworth (Glenn); son Timothy Crunk (Cindy); and four grandchildren, Morgan Duckworth, Hunter Duckworth, Ashley Cousins (Caleb) and Jonathan Crunk.

James Willhite, age 87 of Collierville, TN formerly of Springfield, TN passed away Friday, May 7, 2021 at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville.

Funeral Services will be at 10am, Wednesday, May 12th at Main Street Church of Christ in Springfield, TN. Burial will follow in Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Hurricane Mill, TN. The family will receive friends 4pm to 8pm on Tuesday, May 11th and 9am until the time of service on Wednesday at Main Street Church of Christ.

He was born June 23, 1933 in Hurricane Mills, TN to the late Bell and Ollie Page Willhite. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sara ‘Ruth” Youree Willhite; sister, Ollie Bell Watson and brother, Dennis Willhite.

He was a member of Main Street Church of Christ and a Veteran of the US Navy.

He had a BS Degree in Animal Science and a Master’s Degree in Animal Husbandry and served as the 4-H Agent with the Agriculture Extension Office.

He is survived by son, Edwin (Barbara) Willhite of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter, Adelia (Andy) Gaines of Coldwater, MS; twin-floral squarebrother, Joe (Shirley) Willhite of Martin, TN; grandchildren, David (Kristina) Willhite, Andrea (Glenn) Hollingsworth, Paige Willhite, Rachael (George) Hilliard, Mary Kate Gaines, Will Gaines and great-grandchild, Barrett Hollingsworth.

Mary “Melissa” Shepard, age 49 of Clarksville, Tennessee, died Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at AHC Clarksville.

Graveside services were conducted at Sango Cemetery in Clarksville at 11:00AM on Saturday, May 8, with Chaplain Garrette Milliken conducting the committal service. Burial followed with Randy Goff, Alan Shepard, Stan Shepard, Jason Shepard, Josh Shepard, and Greg Balthrop serving as pallbearers. There was no visitation prior to the graveside service at the funeral home.

Melissa was born on May 23, 1971 in Clarksville, Tennessee to the late Buster and Joann Eden Shepard. She had worked for HATS as floral squarean aid worker. She loved to horseback ride and her dog and attended Stroudsville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her sisters, Angie (Randy) Goff and Melaine Shepard; uncle, Rocky (Joanne) Shepard; niece, Sarah Golf; and a special friend, Penny Maltais Woods.

Joe Alvin Gainous, 85, of Adams, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2021 at the Tennessee State Veterans Home in Clarksville.

Graveside services were conducted Wednesday May 5th at 2:00 p.m. in the Bellwood Cemetery in Adams with Brother Jimmy Chapman and Billy Vogle officiating. Pallbearers were Jason Newberry, Joey Newberry, Kyle Todd, Adam Ellithorpe, Austen Mussman, Skip Johnson, and Phillip Brown. There was no visitation prior to the graveside service on Wednesday.

Mr. Gainous was born January 1, 1936 in Logan County, Kentucky to the late Tolley Newton and Jessie Geneva Hardaway Gainous. He was a retired farmer and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, having served during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Gainous was a graduate of the Auto Diesel College in Nashville. He loved raising sheep and doing custom rolled hay. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gainous was preceded in death by his wife: Wilmoth Allene Duffer Gainous and by his brother: Fred Gainous.

Burial followed in the Greenwood Cemetery in Adairville with Jon Henbest, Mark Jackson, Matthew Jackson, Buddy Smith, Hunter Henbest, Adam Jackson, Ray Batey, Chandler Perdue, Jim Starks and Ben Jackson serving as pallbearers. The family received friends at the church on Tuesday, from 9 am till the hour of service at 11 am.

Della was born January 23, 1921 in Sumner County, Tennessee to the late Lonnie Wilson Perry and Ina Mae Perry. Her husband, Maurice Edward Jackson, brothers; Virgil, Bailey, Don and Charlie Perry and sisters, Mabel Hines, Lucille Jackson, Lillie Kennedy and Peggy Quisenberry also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Adairville Church of Christ and a lifetime member of the Red River Fish and Game Club.

Mrs. Gupton was born March 5, 1951 in Guthrie, Kentucky to the late Ernest Edgar and Lorene Duer Moss. She worked at Frigidaire for more than 32 years.

In addition to her parents Mrs. Gupton is preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Moss and her sister, Gayle Moss.

Raymond Joe Winchester, age 77, of Bon Aqua, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at the Life Care Center of Centerville in Hickman County.

A graveside service was held Thursday, May 6, 2021 at 1pm in the Hopewell Cemetery with Brother Randy Riggs officiating.

Visitation was held at the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield on Thursday from 12pm until 12:30pm prior to the graveside service.

Mr. Winchester was born April 2, 1944 in Robertson County to the late Raymond Elvis and Maudie Ray Douglas Winchester. He was a farmer and a Christian.

In addition to her parents Mr. Winchester is preceded in death by his brothers, R.L. Winchester, Anthony Wayne Winchester, James Winchester, Jeff Winchester, Faren Winchester, Johnny floral squareWinchester, and his sister, Christy Lynne.

Marilyn Marie England, age 61, of New Johnsonville and formerly of Robertson County, passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at her home.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date.

Ms. England was born July 11, 1959 in Barren Plains, TN to the late Harold Edward and Christine Hand England. She worked as a waitress and was of the Baptist Faith.

Beloved friends and family, It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Ball on Monday, April 26th. Everyone who knew John loved him. Over the years John had many interests and hobbies that ranged from pottery to blacksmithing to SCUBA diving. He will be remembered for his easy laugh, quick wit, and, most especially, the deep love that he held for his family and many friends.

John was born in Detroit, Michigan on June 6, 1964 to Mary Francis and the late John Edward Ball. He lived most of his life here in middle Tennessee where he enlisted in the Army before going on to meet and marry his wife Kelley, graduate from Tennessee State University, and enjoy a long career in Information Technology. John was a devout Christian and enjoyed sharing his musical talents in celebration and fellowship.

John was the most loving husband to one, father to two, and grandfather to three and a half. He leaves behind his wife Kelley Brooke Ball; his son Jonathan Charles Ball and wife Beth; his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Redding, husband Talon, their children Cora, John, and Ava; his mother Mary Ball; his brother Benjamin and wife Melanie; his brother Jim and wife Pam; and his brother Dennis and wife DeAnna; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other beloved family.

Kenneth Gordon “KC” Cadwell Jr, age 78 of Springfield, Tennessee, died Friday April 30, 2021 at NHC of Springfield.

Funeral services were held at 1 pm on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Tim Harris officiating. Burial followed in Springfield Memorial Gardens with Kyle Cadwell, Erik Lane, Toby Craig, Brandon Conner, Danny Elliott and Michael Lane serving as pallbearers. Matthew Richardson and Josef Urban will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family received friends at the funeral home on Monday May 3, 2021 from 4pm till 8 pm and again on Tuesday from 11 am until the hour of service at 1 pm.

KC was born October 11, 1942 in Grand Rapids MI to the late Kenneth Gordon Cadwell Sr and Irene Russell Cadwell. His wife of 41 years, Frances Ann Lane Cadwell also preceded him in death. He was a retired Parts Pro with AutoZone in Springfield and before that with Chief Auto Parts in Springfield. Mr. Cadwell enjoyed Woodworking, fishing and reading action and adventure books.

Age 75 of Portland went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 29, 2021 at his home. He was born October 13, 1945 in Nashville, TN to Willis Diear Pairs, Sr. and Elsie Mae Felts. He worked as a self-employed carpenter and enjoyed working with his hands and doing woodworking. He also enjoyed swinging and rocking. Mr. Pairs proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam and was a member of Walnut Grove United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant siblings, Ruby Pairs and Tommy Pairs; 2 sisters, Barbara Jean Denson and Elsie Mildred Parks; 3 brother-in-laws, Buster B. Carter, Frank Lassiter and Edward Smith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55-1/2 years, Brenda Pairs, Portland, TN; daughters, Samantha (Steve) Stubblefield and Tara (Donnie) Stubblefield, both of Springfield, TN; brother, James (Alice) Pairs, Portland, TN; sisters, Mary Carter, Goodlettsville, TN, Shirley Ann Lassiter, Greenbrier, TN and Dorothy Smith, White House, TN; brother-in-law, Billy Parks, Anniston, AL’ 5 grandchildren, Alyssa (Johnpaul), Calli (Aaron), Jennifer, Jessica (Hunter) and Jimmy; 3 great-grandchildren and one on the way, Izzy, Caydence and Karson.

Interment followed in Walnut Grove Cemetery with military honors and with Steve Stubblefield, Donnie Stubblefield, Jimmy Stubblefield, Johnpaul Howard, Aaron Holman and Hunter Lassiter serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Van Pond, Ronald Gann, Ronald Pulley, David Jones, Chris Jones and John Hancock. Emily Kathryn May, age 23, of Westmoreland, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021. She was a sweet and loving daughter and sister who had a huge heart and loved everybody. Emily was a 2017 graduate of Hendersonville High School.

Obituary for Louise Montgomery Carmack
January 28, 1926 – April 28, 2021

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Louise Montgomery Carmack of Hendersonville, Tennessee on April 28, 2021 at the age of 95 years.

She was born in Washington County, Tennessee on January 28, 1926. She was the only child of John and Bess Crookshanks, who proceeded her in death along with her grandson, John Montgomery Carmack.

Louise received her early education at Mountain View School and Jonesboro High School. At age 16, she entered East Tennessee State College in Johnson City, Tennessee and graduated with teaching degrees in music, history, economics and geography.

She taught in Knoxville city schools, Washington County, Sullivan County and Kingsport city schools, where she retired after 37 years of teaching.

She was a Presbyterian and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She spent her remaining life researching her family’s genealogy, gardening, sewing and traveling. She was an avid reader and never stopped learning. In 1991, she left Kingsport and moved to Hendersonville, TN to be near her only child, Dr. James Carmack.

floral squareLouise will be lovingly remembered by her son, James (Judy) and her grandchildren Jaime (Tim) and Joseph (Jamie). She is also survived by her cherished great grandchildren, Anson Drown, Asher Drown, Quincy Drown, Sutton Carmack, Camden Carmack and Tanner Drown.

There are no services scheduled for Mrs. Carmack.

Robert Hagen Tebbetts, age 74 of Pleasant View, Tennessee, died Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Gallatin Center for Rehab and Healing.

Funeral services were conducted at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View at 3:00PM on Saturday, May 1st, with his family sharing memories. Robert’s remains were cremated following the service.

The family received friends at the funeral home on Saturday, May 1st from 1:00PM until the hour of service at 3:00PM.

Mr. Tebbetts was born on July 12, 1946 in Rochester, New Hampshire to the late Burton & Elizabeth Tebbetts. He was the CEO, COO, & CFO of Sigi’s Fashions, Inc., in which was named after his wife, Sigrid. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He loved to ride his motorcycle and especially play golf after retiring. Robert loved his family and grandchildren and was a Christian.

Obituary for Patricia Compton Long

Age 87, of Cross Plains passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at NHC in Hendersonville. She was born March 13, 1934 in Louisville, KY to Clayton Abernathy Compton, Jr. & Sarah Elizabeth Hart. She worked 20+ years for Bell South and was credited for saving the life of a baby over the phone, when she worked as a telephone operator. Ms. Long was retired from the U.S. Navy, where she attained the rank of Senior Chief. She was a member of the American Legion Post #206 in White House, where she served over approximately 20 years as Post Service Officer. She also served on the Executive Committee and served as Post Commander. Pat was also very active in the Eastern Star and worked as a professional clown. She also loved dogs and was a member of Jesus Reigns Fellowship, where she attended.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Maurine Russell; nephew; Howard Russell. She is survived by her brothers, Clayton (Johnnie) Compton, Louisville, KY and Stephen (Odell) Compton, Crestwood, KY; sister, Estelle (Gordon) Quisenberry, Louisville, KY; 12 nieces and nephews;23 great nieces and nephews; 6 great-great nieces and nephews and a young lady she loved like a daughter, Marissa Hundley.

Funeral service was held Monday, May 3, 2021 at 3pm in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House with Pastor Chet Murrell officiating. Interment was held Tuesday, May 4, floral square2021 at 10am in Middle Tennessee Veteran’s Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation was held Monday, May 3, 2021 12pm-3pm at the funeral home. On April 26, 2021 Mary Helen Clark Tomaszewski-Townsend, loving wife and mother of 3 daughters, passed away at the age of 77.

She was born on December 24, 1943 in Decatur, Alabama to the late Edward and Frances Clark. She was a graduate from Joelton High School. In 1963, she married the late Raymond Joseph Tomaszewski and they raised 3 daughters, Kelly, Missy, and Mary Jo until his death on April 26, 1977. Mary remarried her life long devoted partner, Bill Townsend to complete her journey.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband; brother, Joe Clark and 3 baby boys.

She is survived by her husband Bill Townsend; daughters, Kelly (Tommy) Ellis, Melissa Tomaszewski, Mary Jo (James) Holmes, Stephanie Johnson, Denise (Mark) Downing, Tammy Madison, Billy Townsend, II. and children; grandchildren, Donny (Jeimy) Young, Kyle (Samantha) Ellis, Cage (Rita) Ellis, Addison Holmes, Staten Holmes, Dean Oldham and sibling Edwina Parker; and many nieces, nephews, friends, family too numerous to list but no less important.

Funeral Services were conducted by Keith Sovine, George Mills, and Tommy Ellis at 1:00PM, Thursday, April 29th at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View. Burial followed in Good Springs cemetery with James Holmes, Cage Ellis, Ron Tomaszewski, Keith Sovine, Jeremy Savage, Kyle Ellis, Noah Young, Donny Young, Will Townsend serving as pallbearers.

Wayne Charles Shick, age 70, of Hendersonville, passed away Monday, April 26, 2021 at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center. Wayne was a Christian, musician, music teacher, Civil War buff, a U.S. Army veteran, and enjoyed politics. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
